Dear Riot. Read this BEFORE the next time you post in a thread.

If the only time you respond to our threads your post starts or ends with "...though I have no experience/influence/qualifications in this department..." get off your Riot account or straight-up don't respond.

At the very least change that sentence to something along the lines of "...I'll just refer a Rioter with some experience/influence/qualifications in this department to this thread...".

(Okay... is this in the right boards section now, Riot?)

So you'd rather silence than someone at Riot taking notice and giving insight even if their job isn't directly involved with the discussion?

That makes no sense, especially with the community wanting more communication and dialogue with Reds. You can only expect them to add a disclaimer when they make a comment to avoid setting the wrong expectations with the topic at hand.

You need to relax.

Hey Red Arrow,

You bring up an interesting discussion. How can Rioters engage on the forums and provide meaningful interaction, despite not being a subject matter expertise? Rioters often use that caveat at the start or end of their post so that their words won't be taken gospel or a promise because they don't want to speak for another person/team and accidentally give incorrect info.

Of course the other option, like you pointed out, is to just stay silent. That is certainly one approach, but a lot of us naturally enjoy engaging with players (we're players too!), and I think there is value in it despite not always have the definitive answer to the question at hand.

Just my 2 cents! What are you thoughts?

It's complicated, because no single person at Riot makes decisions alone. They are a team, and it's difficult for any individual on a team to accurately represent the team's opinion. I like that they respond, even when things don't turn out the way you want. It shows that they care what we think, even if they don't always agree.
