It's human psychology. No one likes being wrong. If you provide facts and logic, they will ignore it because it hurts their pride too much to ever admit that they are wrong.

This is the same issue all boards have where you are able to downvote. Instead of allowing discussions to occur organically the system makes it easier for the groupthink mentality to derail any and all progress. Riot is encouraging and reinforcing weak behavior. I would love to see Lyte in a BJJ class where his ego gets checked non-stop. I am pretty sure he would quit within a month.
This is a game that panders to sensitive people. You can report somebody for typing mean things to you in game. Think about that it's typing and people get all sensitive about it. However you can just be an idiot but as long as you are nice about being an idiot there is no way you will be punished regardless of how badly the person's stupidity ruins games. Going 1/15 for the 5th time in a row in PvP? No problem just say gg and nothing can happen but if you tell that person that they are bad.... OH SNAP REPORTED! People need to grow the fuck up and get a thicker skin especially when it comes to crap on the internet.
