Personally i think riot did a great job with these forum pages. there are sub communities which i like, and one page with everything. but one thing i suggest is to have newest messages on the left and most viewed on the right. i like this type of community page and i hope it sticks. Great job riot.

Not everyone likes reddit, plain and simple. They have essentially said that this will one day replace the vbulletin boards, and judging from the red activity on both boards, they have already decided it will happen without addressing the fact that they are forcing reddit on a vbulletin community, all while currently having an insanely popular subreddit. The community visits the vbulletin board for vbulletin, not reddit.

IMO, they need to fix the sorts, they are all both confusingly titled, and not effective. Sorting should not need to be constantly reapplied to see the bigger picture of the threads, and this is mainly a problem due to recent not showing the most recent posts, but rather the most recently made topics/replies. It doesn't give you a good idea where the discussion is happening, and HOT is essentially a static list. Compared to vbulletin, every post has a shot. Here? by default, newcomers see the static list, not new posts. In my opinion, they should see both.

It's growing on me now that I've gotten into it a bit more. And now that it keeps my setting to have everything sorted by Newest first, it actually makes a bit more sense. You can actually see that new forum activity is taking place, rather than just seeing a static list of popular threads.

It still needs some work, but I think I could actually get used to this. The whole thing of getting notifications when people reply to you is awesome. Oh yeah, and being able to view your own posting history.

People just don't like change and honestly it will take them a while to get used to it. I personally love the changes though ^^ riot did a good job.
