[Feedback] What if Riot took a page out of Battle.net?

Its frustrating that I can't use this site for more than just a few things and then go about day. I wish I didn't have to be in the client 100% of the time to edit my account to change out rune/mastery pages, check out and buy new skins or other stuff, not able to spectate games without having to go find a stream I might not like or not able to chat with friends while I can't play and have to use third party software to do it.

On the other hand with Battle.Net I can do a ton of stuff even if its cosmetic. I can change my icons for Starcraft II and check out ladder standings/find out what matches are being played/reviewing the replays themselves [I know this is coming soon to league so just ignore this feature for now], I can buy books and software on their site, I can jump on either of the games forums that I own and just start reading recent responses to patch notes [You have to actually look for the forums on Riots site, they are not displayed front and center like they should be], I get patch notes right in the client itself and the entire wall of text of what is going to be in them...

I just wish Riot would take some of these ideas and push them to the next level. I want to be able to look at guides in the middle of the night and change out my pages so the next time I log in I can just jump right into games. There is just so much I want to do and wish I could make better use of my limited time when I have to play it.

I know some of these features aren't possible and the merchant shop stuff is eventually coming but I seriously want to spend more time on this site than just the 30 - 45 minutes to do tribunal and then go surf reddit where the front page rarely changes, go watch twitch games and try to accept the streamers rage fits, I want to be able to buy skins or look at the shop for what runes I need while reading guides and just know what I am making.

I certainly don't want the arcade or anything like that stuff but I just want a more dynamic site that makes it easier to find stuff and is more focused on what people should be looking for: Forums to get right to feedback, store to get whatever they need and profile so mess around with their stuff.

I want a reason to be on here and stay on here instead of relying on other sites to give me the info that I might not what. To look at lolking and not be able to edit anything makes me hate that site the most.

TL;DR: Just pick and choose things that will help make this place better than overfilling the front page with information that doesn't let me get to what I want aka forums, actually profile viewing/working on etc etc etc. The news and lore stuff is nice but its harder to find the forums and other stuff.

While I do agree that the League of Legends site is rather poorly designed- with much more emphasis on aesthetics than any utility, I'm pretty sure that most of the community info you ask for is already readily available; just not on the main website.

For example, there is the LoL wiki on wikia, as well as Mobafire and its (infamous) guides, and then of course, sites like Elophant or Lolking. Maybe it isn't as convenient as being accessible by the client at the drop of a button, but it still is there. The main problem is awareness for those sites, I suppose, and as for that issue, I am of the opinion that Riot should advertise these sites as community sites, as many other games do.

(Note if you're looking purely for guides, I'd recommend LoL Inven than Mobafire; that is, if you can read Korean of course. Otherwise, Mobafire isn't actually that bad, especially considering how sites like Solomid just do not have the update frequency to be useful or relevant.)

I'm personally of the opposite opinion. While there should be more account editing through the League site (Rp/Item Purchases and Calculators), everything else is something the Community itself should take care of.

Riot is infamous for their Philosophy of not contributing to the meta directly or impacting player choices through example, so they will not post guides and if you retort that they can be done by the community, the Fact that sites like Mobafire exist makes it a moot point for Riot to step in (additional costs, traffic, ect for no reason).

I'd like to see Riot endorse more streamers, Casual and Professional and spotlight them again, but not through their site.
