Forum Post Count +Forum Rank

I am going to make this post short and sweet :). I think it would entice players to frequent and post more in the forums if there was some sort of reward. This could be done multiple ways however the best ways in my opinion would be through a post count to see how many posts you have along with a rank, in which you could use the Bronze, Silver, Silver 2, etc. ranking system. To add onto this, if that isn't enough, perhaps for every 50 posts or so one might get rewarded with an ip boost or even ip itself. The reason I bring this up is because I notice that only some posts get a decent amount of reception while others receive almost none. I am not talking about the people crying about lore changes and what not, I am talking about unique posts being completely missed by the community.

Thank you for reading :)

I'm afraid of mass troll postings if people got something in game for it.

tl;dr How to make forum posting into a grind

We already have enough content, though. Maybe not on Boards yet, but we will once GD decides to migrate over.

The way to get GD to migrate is NOT to create rewards for posting, it's to make this site awesome!

I know I'm super behind the times, but I'd like to address this.

a post count to see how many posts you have along with a rank, perhaps for every 50 posts or so one might get rewarded with an ip boost or even ip itself.

Using number of posts as a metric for contribution is very dangerous, as it can both be easily abused and doesn't necessarily show the value coming from a particular person. Here's an in-game comparison: Instead of determining League rank by win/loss, determining individual player scores using KDA. Not only does this incentivize selfish play, but KDA doesn't accurately portray contribution. If a mid laner goes 0/15/15 but was constantly ganking and supporting side lanes to victory, that's valuable.

Anyway, my point is essentially that # of posts doesn't paint the whole picture. Rewards for forum use are tricky, because "contribution" is really subjective. In addition, rewarding one aspect can unintentionally de-incentivize everything else. If the only reward system is for number of posts, why bother posting constructively? Why bother having debates or even creating threads you think are awesome and want to share with the community?
