We need you to listen Riot. We have the intentions of creating a better game and community

I, as well as other users of these boards have noticed a lack of "Red Posts" and replies. As a result, the boards community is often unclear on statements made, as well as weather our posts are being read by Riot employees or not. The focus of the boards should be for the League of Legends community to discuss ideas and propose new ideas and concepts for gameplay and tweaks in the game. From then, Riot employees read the posts, and join the discussion to clarify doubts and help people understand the game better. The boards are set up so that this all can happen, and so that players can have their ideas heard by the right people who can implement them, or maybe talk about why it should not be implemented.

The problem our community is facing, is that there is a lack "Red posts" from the people who we are trying to communicate with, so the last part about Riot employees sharing their feedback on the post is not happening enough to satisfy the posts from the community. I have no doubt that the employees are thoroughly reading the boards, but there are not enough conversations between the players and the creators to show what is going on in each of our minds, and to talk about the subjects that are being debated among the community. I see so many "nerf fizz" and "nerf akali" posts, but until we see the Riot employees' input on why the champions should not be nerfed, or how they intend on nerfing them, people will keep posting these, and will not ever know if their voice is being heard by the people who matter.

I see many posts regarding the east coast connection, suggesting an east coast server, or the NA server to be centralized. While I am not asking for my ping to immediately go from 130 to 50, I think the east coast players would appreciate a post covering the plans on a stable east coast connection, and how soon it would be possible. Another common post I see comes up when the NA servers go down. Again, while we understand that problems such as these occur (After all, League of Legends is the most played computer game in the world right now), I think the community would be much happier to at least have a post about what specifically the problem is, and a rough estimate for when the servers will be back up.

In conclusion, I think having Riot employees not just read, but respond to posts would help make these boards a happier place to be, because after all, I love seeing a "Red post", because unlike others, I know I am getting the information from a trustworthy source. I would just like to see some more Red comments on the "nerf -Insert mid lane assassin here- posts, as to why they do not need to be nerfed, or how to build against them, or how you plan on nerfing them. Most of us board users respect Riot employees and it would be a huge gift to see more red in the posts and comments on posts. Make it a new years resolution from me to any Riot employee reading this to respond to at least 2 posts a day.

Thank you sincerely Riot for providing me with an entertaining game for the past 2 years (longer for others). It would mean the world to me to see the boards thriving with energy from the developers themselves, the people who we look up to. Think of it as us players being the annoying little brother who wants to play a game with his older brother, and continues to ask over and over. Please be the good older brother who decides to say yes and play, even if the game is stupid, by replying to our posts, as stupid as they may seem.

Hey Soybean16,

Your kind words and well thought out post are extremely appreciated. And I think you're right, we could do a lot better communicating with you guys. I know Tryndamere has gone over some of this stuff before, but I want to reiterate some of our communication strategy so you can have some more understanding about our process.

First of all, the main reason you're not seeing a lot of red posts right now is because a lot of Rioters are at home recharging their batteries, visiting family, and enjoying the holidays. As more and more Rioters come back, I'm sure you're going to see more red posts. It seems that we have lot of challenges to tackle in the coming year, so I imagine this R&R is really good for a lot of Rioters.

Secondly, we're trained to (as best as possible) speak to our strengths. I work in the NOC, we're responsible for tracking and triaging incidents across our many shards around the world. I am not responsible for directly improving current infrastructure, so I won't be able to speak to the East Coast issues specifically. I can however speak to the question of communicating when a server goes down. Honestly, NA hasn't "gone down" except for maintenance in a long time, so I'd be curious to know what you mean by this. I for one can tell you when an entire shard (NA, EUW, etc) goes down, it's basically "all hands on deck" and we work as fast as possible to bring it back online. One of the first things we do, is update our service status page. http://status.leagueoflegends.com/#na

Now, I could certainly understand criticisms about us having vague posts on the service status page, but I can tell you we have several people tasked with improving our player messaging during incidents. I hope this clears up some of the points your brought up, feel free to follow up for clarification.

It's been proven time and time again, that even when riot does respond and say "oh yes we're planning to do this in response to that" or "no this is fine because..." People just ignore them, and continue spamming the same content regardless.
