As part of our Countdown to Worlds, lolesports.com celebrates the best players at the World Championship.

#8 - Rekkles

Team - Fnatic
Region - Europe
Position - ADC
Signature Champions

Rekkles is the original wunderkind.

In November 2012, just months after the Season 2 World Championship, teams headed to Las Vegas to participate in IPL5. To many, this is still one of the greatest tournaments ever played - largely because of Rekkles.

Fnatic looked nigh untouchable, with four consecutive wins against defending World Champions TPA, eliminating them from the tournament. They went on to just barely losing out to tournament winners World Elite, who was at that time at the height of their power. Though Rekkles looked like the best ADC in the world during that tournament, Fnatic would lose him for a year due to the age restriction on the LCS.

It was 100% worth the wait.

Now Rekkles is the reigning EU LCS MVP, and shares the single-season kills record, on one of the best teams in the world. Rekkles does it all, mechanics in lane, late-game farming and awareness, strategic play, communication. He also has the ability to play almost any champion at a top level.

Rekkles is the gold standard for Western ADCs.

#7 - DanDy

Team - Samsung Galaxy White
Region - China
Position - Jungler
Signature Champions

A player in the professional scene since League of Legends came to Korea, DanDy has transformed himself into the best jungler that Korea - and arguably the world - has to offer. Nicknamed “The Prince of Thieves” for his uncanny ability to steal any living objective with his on-point smites, DanDy has time and time again turned a match on its head when his team is down.

Teamed up with two passive players, Looper and Pawn, in Samsung Galaxy White’s solo lanes, DanDy has no fear taking over the carry jungler role, picking up kills with his perfect gank times. Possibly DanDy’s greatest strength comes in his studying of his opponents - breaking down his opposing jungler’s pathing and knowing where his enemy is at all times.

A monster on Lee Sin and Elise (a record of 54-20 all-time on the two champions in professional play), teams must stop DanDy from rolling early or the game could be over before they even get out of the laning phase. And even if you can keep DanDy down in the early and mid-game, The Prince of Thieves only needs one chance near the Baron pit to go from irrelevant to your worst nightmare.
