As part of our Countdown to Worlds, lolesports.com, we celebrate the best players of the World Championship.

#4 NaMei

Team - Edward Gaming
Region - China
Position - ADC
Signature Champions

When Uzi was in LA in 2013, the world’s best AD carry was still in China.

Zhu “NaMei” Jiawen is the only player to have been present in every single LPL final, and he has just claimed his third consecutive LPL victory. NaMei’s ability to predict skillshot trajectories allows him to position such that he can do more damage than most other AD carries. With an adept zoning top laner like Koro1 to peel for him, NaMei is nearly unkillable, which allows him to plow through the enemy tank line without fuss.

NaMei isn’t just skilled in team fighting, however. NaMei’s understanding of minion denial allows him to lane against the best and come out ahead in both farm and trades. He isn’t content to leave his opponent undisturbed in the lane when he can go for the throat.

If one needs further convincing of NaMei’s power, look no further than his Jinx record. He’s only played the champion six times, but when he brings it out, he’s serious. If Jinx graces the international stage in his hands, you’re in for a SuperMega treat.

#3 - Mata

Team - Samsung Galaxy White
Region - Korea
Position - Support
Signature Champions

As a rookie, Mata took control of a stagnant MVP Ozone (now Samsung White) team and led them to one of the greatest Cinderella runs in League of Legends history, winning Champions Spring 2013. With his boisterous shot-calling and impeccable vision control, Mata isn’t only one of the best supports in the world -- he’s one of the best leaders, too.

Since Mata has taken over the starting support role for Samsung White, the team has made it to the semifinals of Champions five seasons in a row. Consistency is Mata’s greatest strength, controlling his team under his superb game management and leading them deep in every tournament he has ever been apart of - except one.

The 2013 World Championship was the worst tournament in Mata’s carer, failing to get out of the Group stage and not delivering on the lofty expectations after a strong 2013 season. Now, back with long-time partner Imp in the bottom lane, Mata eyes redemption not only for himself but the entire Samsung White team. Aggressive in lane and a hawkeye when it comes to wards, Mata is the orchestrator of a team heavily favorited to win Worlds.
