Losing LP when a teammate AFKs

Lately, I have been having quite a few afks in my games. But, a few days ago, I happened to have 2 afking adcs in a row.

So, first game, I was playing Veigar against a Ziggs. The enemy bot got first blood on the Zyra, which got the Jinx really triggered. Less than 1 minute later, the Zyra steals a SINGLE CS (or so the Zyra said), which caused her to flame her, and then proceeded to afk. The enemy Kai'sa then dominated the game, and we ffed at 15. Keep in mind that this was around 5/6 minutes into the game, so we couldn't remake. I lost 15 or so LP from that, bringing me down to 0 LP.

Next game, I was autofilled jungle, and played karthus jungle. Our Xerath was solo killed 5 times to the Kat and my Wukong was losing lane to a nasus. I managed to snag few kills with my ult, but overall I power farmed. Our Xayah adc suddenly afks, and we lose the game. It is frustrating because although there was a good chance that we would have lost anyways, we automatically lost because our ad is gone. I didn't lose any LP, which was fine.

Although I didn't demote or anything, it's really frustrating having people afk, and yet still losing LP from it. Riot pls fix.

If LP was affected by anything other than winning or losing a game, then individual ranks and the ladder as a whole get polluted. This is why you still need to lose LP for a match lost due to an AFK teammate. If they made it so the losing team didn't lose LP, that can be easily abused. "Oh shit, we're going to lose, someone leave, quick!"

It's unfortunate when it happens, but your rank is determined in the very, very long run. One or two losses due to AFKs cannot impact someone's rank in any meaningful way. Also think about it this way - the enemy team always has a better chance of having an AFK (and that benefits you) as long as you're a person who never AFKs.

Is it also frustrating when you win LP from an AFK on the enemy team?

LP works because it is a currency of sorts - it is not "created" or "destroyed", only exchanged. The winning team wins LP and the losing team loses LP - in approximately equal amounts. If you eliminate LP losses, you end up with LP being artificially created - which causes artificial LP and rank inflation.
