I really wish the chat would be removed for soloQ and kept for Duo/flex

It's legit nothing good but to receive and read chat abuse and verbal aggression. It serve no purpose but being a dick head behind your screen because you would most likely piss your pant if you were facing your opponent/teams in person. Remove the chat altogether and make this game less toxic to play. Muting solve nothing as other people keep spamming shit but if there is no chat, they can't waste energy and time harassing other are there is no way to reach them. Legit the chat have no utility anymore so why we keep it if it cause more toxicity than it prone teamwork? I don't get it.

Riot, a few years back, used to effectively perma chat-restrict people, and stopped because people resorted to griefing when they couldn't chat. Why do you believe people who act toxic will not act toxic when chat is removed from the client?
There are people who use chat as a means of tactical communication/teaching/discussing/making online friends etc. and don't use it to be toxic. How would they react to having chat removed when they don't use chat irresponsibly in the first place?

It solves the problem of people harassing each other through chat. It doesn't stop them from finding other ways to do so. If they can't use the chat, they're liable to turn to other methods of expressing their contempt for their teammates - ping spam, for example, or worse, trolling or intentionally feeding.

Legit the chat have no utility anymore...

Maybe you're just not using it good enough? Tons of games are won and lost every day through good or bad team coordination, which happens in chat.

I wish the same, but be sure it won't happen. What I don't get is why we still need to manually mute everyone. Like create already an option to permanently mute chat/pings.
