20 minute lower priority queue? For a power outage??

RAmarl·8/15/2016, 7:07:10 PM·4 votes·6,072 views

I understand that my teammates and other players don't know why I suddenly "left" a match... but why am I getting a 20 min queue penalty for a power outage in my area?

Aren't the games recorded? I could've sworn ulting the dragon and the enemy team then suddenly disappearing would've led to more than a "He just left/rage quit" or something....

This punishment system needs some work, man.

Leaverbuster does not care about the reason why you left, it treats all leaves the same. If it was less harsh on leaves due to power outages or something similar, then people who want to rage quit could very easily make it look like their internet went out as, like GaleWinUnleashed said, it cannot tell the difference between a real power outage and someone simply unplugging their router.

Also, I'd like to point out that you did not get this punishment because of a single leave. You got it because you have a history of leaving an unacceptable number of games in the past.

Now, I know you're saying that you have left maybe once in the last 2-3 weeks, but that doesn't matter. You have gone through at least 2 other LPQ punishments before. It takes quite a while to work off those punishments, and working them off is determined by the number of games played where you aren't marked as AFK, not by a predetermined amount of real life time. The number of games to work of LPQ punishments (as in, to lower yourself on the punishment tier and get a less harsh punishment next time) is a lot, and I can guarantee you the the amount of games you have played in the last 2-3 weeks is not enough, especially with a leave among them.

You don't get it for 1 game. Stop trolling.

20 min queue for my internet going out sounds great.... you guys need to fix this. I understand my team didn't have a good time but they get to start another game up right away when I have to wait 20 min not just one game... but more then one is too much

Riot left a bot in charge of it so its "fair" because you know human emotions always get in the way of things but i think if people dont report that person for afking he shouldnt be punished so hard since his team probably didnt care too much anyway

You don't get a 20 minute low priority queue for leaving 1 game. That is chronic leaver status.

Punishments aren't for individual leaves, but for leaving games at an unacceptable rate. An occasional outage does not lead to a punishment by itself. You have just used up all your slack already.

i hear you man i got lower queue priority because for some reason the recent patches have made my leagues client unable to function properly.

I was playing a ranked game in which we were in the banning phase, everything was fine as usual. We chose our bans and locked in our champs, but after the banning phase something unusual occured, my client didnt event start to load me into game??????? then when i forced close the league client i tried to re open it, but once again something unusual happened (wow :O) my client wouldnt even open XD.

^that right there is injustice with the new system ;)

OH and if you are thinking the following: "well you probably left previous matches"

Well my dear sir do i have another story to tell you :) This story is about a guy winning lane by having first blood, but then this guy got ganked AND GUESS WHAT? his client crashed as soon as he reached tower :O once again the client refused to re open.

Now yes i have seen justice by this system for i got a leaver buster a long time ago, no story for this one. It was pure justice, for i had to go do something so yea it caught me, oh riot you raskle. So yea it does show justice but it can be very annoying when you get a leaver buster for something that is literally the games fault. My client crashing due to recent updates is 100% not my fault :O.

Also, riot if you see this, then please fam, figure out what the problem is :) (this new upadte fixed it a bit for i dont crash as much but i still do and i got a leaver buster this patch for it :>)

im writing this post while im in low queue priority XD

Trolling? Check my MATCH HISTORY friends.

I had maybe one leave/disconnect within the last two weeks for a similar reason ... a router issue or a game that had a BugSplat and my team had to remake.

So please. Don't do it.

Deliberate or not, it still reduces the match quality for the other 9 players in the game. It doesn't feel very good, but it's a decent incentive to make sure your connection is as stable as possible. In this case there's nothing you could've done to predict or prevent it, but LeaverBuster can't tell the difference between a power outage and you pulling the plug yourself.

doesn't change the fact that your dc fucked up the game of 4 other people.

and when you have 20min it clearly wasn't the first time.
