Toxicity: A Push In The Right Direction

I speak personally, but I assume that there are many others in a similar position as me where when we see players being toxic, we report them, but don't feel as if anything improves because of it. Now I am not suggesting that Riot give us a message that tells us the details, but I think the player base would feel more empowered to handle the toxicity in the game if we were better informed of when our efforts bore fruit. For example, say for example the player I reported some time ago today who called me an "F" word (homophobic slur). I know riot looked into him immediately as that is one of the autotriggers for the bot. Was this player punished or soon to be? Almost certainly yes. But I will never be informed that a player that I reported was punished. The only time that happens, for some reason, is if your report was one of the ones that triggered the review itself, not any previous reports, so it feels like nothing happened, even though I know the report was impactful. I would like for Riot to implement a system that doesn't name-shame, but after a time delay (so you don't know who it was) we can see if our reports have mattered. I think I saw a post where a summon recommended a report card where we can see how many players we've helped punish, and how our account standing is. If we know how our behavior is impacting the game and how we've helped, we can better take steps to improve. Thanks so much for your time and thoughts!

Maybe a website or in client feature that shows you your % of reports deemed valid, and maybe shows % of reports that ended up with a punishment eventually?

Are you seeking vengeance, for knowing if they got punished or not? The likelyhood of seeing the same player again, especially in lower ranks is incredibly low, so you shouldn't really worry about it. If you reported them, you did your part and it should suffice.

You are partially correct when you say that you only get the punishment notification when someone gets punished. Though the full part is that you will get a punishment notification if the game you reported the person was included in the reform card.

Now keep in mind that the reform card only shows 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior. So if the recent time frame passes, you will never know that someone got punished.

Personally, I take the lack of punishment notification a good thing. That means the specific individual player isn't engaing in toxic behavior as oftenly as we think. But I do understand the desire to want to know that your reports are doing it's part in cleaning up the community.

Monthly Report Cards was a pretty cool community concept that gives alot of transparency towards the system. The downside is that people may learn how to game the system and try to avoid the system.

Riot Tantram has since come on to say that they are working on something more compelling than MRC.

It used to tell you when a player reported you. Guess that was tilting players more or something.
