Chat Restrictions

Does anyone else feel like Chat Restrictions are being handed out extremely unfairly? I've been restricted 3 times in two months for defending not only myself, but communities and friends, yet when I report the toxic teammates who sling slander I don't even get feedback reports? How can someone say something 3x more extreme than me, and we report each other but I'M the one taking the hit? Riot needs to stop relying on automation to take care of reports. Someone shouldn't be able to accuse me of making %%%%%%%%% and rape jokes just because I said there was nothing wrong with being gay, and get me chat restricted for it. And worst of all, you can't even contest it! Because you can never get a hold of a real person, and if you do all they'll say is they can't do anything. I've been a part of this community for 5+ years and I have never been screwed so hard or felt like the game was really collapsing. Qiyana

You can defend yourself easily without being toxic and getting chat restricted And most of the time you won't get an feedback report when someone gets punished from your report, so how do you know that they ain't getting punished And even if they got more employees to handle reports and complaints it would still take a loooong time to do them 'cause there's millions and millions of players and a lot of reports and a lot of people who think that their ban was ''unjustified'' The automated system is good imo 'cause if it was humans doing the work it would take so much longer because thousands and thousands of games are going on always and there's going to be a lot if reports that need to be checked And it could be unfair 'cause not all the employees think the same. One may think X is toxic while someone else doesn't think that X is toxic. But with the automated system there isn't anything like that happening

If you'd care to provide your chat logs I can help you identify where you're actually defending yourself, and where you cross the line into counter-attacking the other parties.

No, they need to give more attention to griefing reports. Fuck chat. Chat is pretty simple. Its gameplay offenses that need to take priority as far as further analyzing them. A human reviewing a chat log of you retaliating against people offending you, is still gonna result in a punishment for you. Stop retaliating. Youre obviously not just defending people. Youre insulting people who are offending you or others. If im wrong, please do post your chat logs and I can further explain the difference, or get my foot put in my mouth because im wrong.

I am in the military stationed in Japan for the next two years, so I transferred my account over to the Japanese servers. Unfortunately for me, those servers cannot post on this forum, so I am using my old account to write this. My Japan account that is restricted is TCPellett. Below is the text log that got me a ten game chat restriction, as well as honor penalties.

Game 1 In-Game TCPellett: LOL TCPellett: nice dude TCPellett: you are good TCPellett: was i to blame for your first blood? TCPellett: lol we know the duos TCPellett: 0/3/0 TCPellett: 0/5/0 TCPellett: your buddy is doing worse my ddude TCPellett: lol TCPellett: oh well TCPellett: what can i do? TCPellett: every lane is losing TCPellett: lol TCPellett: yo, mid and support, stop being toxic as fuck, especailly when you are playing bad yourself TCPellett: 1/8 TCPellett: you are literally 1 and 8....stop flaming and blaming TCPellett: you had a bad game TCPellett: it happens TCPellett: gg TCPellett: report mid and support pls TCPellett: toxic

All I was doing was defending myself and trying to talk some sense into them. Both were toxic towards me because they were playing bad, and yet I'm the one that gets banned. I understand there is a lot of factors that go into these things. But if they are penalizing honor and achievements in game, then yes, I think they should care more about passing out restrictions, because honestly, this is not worth a ban, in my opinion.

I agree, the system seems much harsher than it used to be. I think a big part of the problem is that the system is much harsher on pushing out chat restrictions over punishments for griefing. Griefing often leads to toxicity in chat but unfortunately because it is not as easy to track by the automated system, the people who talk are the ones being punished regardless of the dynamics of the actual game in question.
