No rewards and 10-day chat suspension, wait what?!?

I used to be a hardcore LoL player with roughly 5k hours played. I have never received a ban or any kind of suspension ever. I stopped playing 8 years ago, and recently came back with the launch of TFT.

Since 2 weeks back, I decided to give the normal game a go and actually enjoyed it more and more, to the point where its now my main game since 3 days back. But what happened today, will most likely change that real quick.

I ended up getting the Jungle position, and really havent got around to try jungling before this game. It feels like the part of the game that changed the most since I last played. I do my best to read up on jungling and at the start of the game ask some questions that my team-members dont mind helping me with. So far, everything is great.

Before I even finish the first Red, the enemy jungler shows up and just stands next to the camp looking at me. I attack and kill him without him doing anything at all. Laughing at my free kill, wondering what the hell just happened, I write in Teamchat: "Omg their jungler is absolutely r%%%%%ed lol"

Game goes on like normal, but someone feeds a lot and then ragequits. About 10 minutes into the game, it´s now 22-6 and 4v5, not looking good at all. Obviously I am not very happy about this situation and would rather just surrender and spend my time enjoying a "normal" 5v5-game.

Calling the first surrender vote, two out of the other three people seem to feel the same, while the 4th and last player does not.

I get a bit frustrated about why anyone would vote no and state that I will go afk until people change their mind. Of course I do not do this however, I am well aware of the consequences for such behavior and I also quickly answer my teammates worries that:

"ofc im not gonna go afk, but please, surrender"

The guy who has been declining states that "Why should I? I am having a good game"

Well yeah, thats great for you, but does it have to be at your entire teams cost? (What im thinking, not saying)

So I repeat what he said in other words by writing:

"Im having a good game, fuck other 3 random people, I play this for myself and not to be on a team" ( in quotation marks ) "Great Spirit!"

At this point a 3rd or 4th surrender vote fails with a 3 against 1 result and the situation is just sad. I make another attempt and getting through to the player making him understand what he is doing by saying:

"but ok now Im gonna vote no every time u lost ur chance of surrendering"

Again, this is nothing I do, I keep on calling surrender votes and always vote YES. But this is where I get reported by the other players due to a HUGE and STUPID misunderstanding. They didn't understand my point with the "Im having a good game, fuck other 3 random people, I play this for myself and not to be on a team" - line / quotation , thinking its something I am actually saying for myself and that I AM THE ONE whos been declining the votes all the time, making them suffer through the painful waste of time the game has become.

All this while the actual "decliner" who is having such a great game himself keeps on spamming "stop crying", which I can admit I kind of deserve at this point, I should have just let it go.

And thats it. At the end of the game after this one, which was a great and fun game, I receive my punishment for having being "disrespectful" towards other players, and not remaining calm?

I would like to argue that I was not being disrespectful against anyone, obviously its not nice to call someone "r%%%%%ed" even in a comic sense, but then again, I did not. This was a comment about the enemy jungler made in the TEAM-chat.

Furthermore, I was actually being calm all the way through. Just really sad about the so far worst game experience since I started playing again, trying to convince the 4th player that maybe he could agree on surrendering instead of being egocentric about it, for the sake of 3 other players in a game we could not have turned around.

10 days I can not use the chat at all now, and I will not receive any levelup/free rewards at all until long after these 10 games and a history of games where nobody reports me for anything.

Well thank you all for taking the time to read through, and your feedback. I do agree my chat was far from optimal, some parts I´m rather embarrassed about. I was however still shocked about a penalty where rewards are getting removed. I definitely think a warning would be in place, as I have so far not yet been in a single game where the words "idiot" or "r%%%%%" arent mentioned at least once by someone, more often a lot more. As a last line of lame excuse to defend my behavior, I sometimes cross the line for others. In this game I felt like I was some kind of keyboard warrior fighting for the other people of my team, as nobody wanted to play except this one, rather arrogant person. I know how lame that might sound, but I really do not care much for myself in general. I mean I recently switched here from playing Counter-Strike long enough to be more or less "tilt-proof", I am sure you are familiar with the level of toxicity in their general matchmaking.

Anyway, I did learn my lesson. Also I see now it was 10 games, and not 10 days, which does make more sense to me as a "first time violator".

"Dont cry like a little girl" should probably not be a line coming from someone who still hasn't gotten over their two year old suspension ;)

it went downhill from that line onwards

someone else being an asshole first does not mean that you being one afterwards gets a free pass. and your overall attitude leaves much to be desired

if you don't stow away the attitude, a chat restriction won't be the worst punishment you encounter

This is kind of bad in itself. The system doesn't understand context and regards the use of the bad word as punishable

System just looks at stuff line by line. Supposedly it understands context but it probably regards this as punishable.

This is all pretty negative. While not punishable on it's own it likely contributes.

Again, negative, probably not punishable on it's own but likely contributes.

Understand that the system doesn't punish based on severity alone. It punishes based on consistency x severity, meaning you can be punished for 1 game of extreme toxicity or many many games of mild toxicity.

Your punishment is a result of the accumulation of the previous games you had similar behavior.

Keep in mind that passive aggressiveness is a punishable offense as well.

whats up with all these posts lately saying "i got chat BANNED for XX amount of DAYS!"

you arent banned or suspended, your chat got restricted. and not for days FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF GAMES! (10 or 25)

i'm gonna stop you right there chief. once you go hardcore you not going back. your mind has been trained to think only hardcore and that means winning no matter what. ranked may allow that but norms won't. in norms you are almost required to lose. and to a hardcore player like yourself losing is the last thing you want and when you lose you throw a tissy fit about it and find every excuse to flame. bad teammates, bad match making, trolls (not bots). and that flame will get you punished, as you have already seen.
