PSA: Scammers and How to Avoid Them!
People can be extremely convincing when they desperately want something you have.
They will usually promise you something in return or they will threaten you.
They will try impersonating an authority figure.
They will try sharing a story of how something worked out for them or a friend and how you can get in on it easy.
They will pretend to have insider knowledge.
They are always inventing new ways to steal from you.
The best thing to do, is ignore anyone who asks you for anything and move on rather than risk letting them "reason" with you. If you suspect something is wrong then something probably IS wrong!
A scammer does not care about you, your family, your job, your hobbies and interests, etcetera. They pretend to care and relate to try and trick you into believing they are a good and trustworthy person. Some even use this tactic to squeeze information out of you that may compromise you. Do not listen to these people and tell them NOTHING!
If someone asks you a personal question and their response to you telling them you don't want to talk about that is anything other than, "Ok", then they have already identified themselves as a threat to you.
To reiterate, people will say ANYTHING to convince you to give them something of yours and they can be extremely convincing. Do not listen to anything said to you that sounds off. You win by shutting them out immediately. You lose as soon as you consent.
