Ban Etiquette

Up for debate in the community to see what people think about banning your teammate's intended picks.

Now, I'm not talking about the "oops I didn't notice you wanted that pick, sorry" bans. I'm talking about the "I should dictate who my teammates can play" picks.

Also, I would imagine since champ select change page specifically states that the intent picks are "Pick intent helps your team sort out potential comps and avoid teammate-harming bans." Intentionally banning your teammates pick is in direct violation of the first article of the Summoner's Code "Support Your Team"

Id say only ban an intended pick if said pick is quite strong in the meta and the person picking it is 4-5 pick

Edit: For example I might ban Mundo even if a team mate is hovering him. Id still warn the team mate that I'm banning him before hand though

In certain cases, I think it is still possible to ban someone's intended pick without trolling. If someone has a high-priority pick and is 5th pick on your team, I think a ban of that champion isn't completely unjust, especially, if that high-priority pick would provide a direct counter to your team if you did not get them. Of course, I would offer to trade them first or ask if someone else could trade him/her because I would like to see him/her get that pick. If there is no other option than taking a substantial risk, I would probably remove the variable.

I think that it depends on the situation. If it's to prevent the enemy team from getting that Champion and both parties in question are fine on that fact then no I wouldn't necessarily call that trolling. However, if it's just to spite that teammate and be a jerk to them throughout the champ select process and/or the entire actual game yes I would most definitely call that trolling.

Aside from banning high priority champs that you can't trade to your teammate, it's essentially you telling someone how to play and pretty selfish to do.

Definitely not in line with the Summoner's Code
