What's up with people telling you what you can or cannot play?

Like come on, that just ruins the game for people. Over three times in this month, while playing support, people have told me, "play (insert character here)", " I don't like (insert character) sup", or "let another lane play (insert character)." And if you do not follow their suggestion, they make you feel bad or they have put you in a position where you would feel bad to play that character because someone wanted to play the character in "their main lane". Telling people what they can or cannot play isn't right, it's a game and there are tons of other characters. In addition, if it isn't ranked than why does it matter? Yes winning feels nice, but so does having fun trying something new. If the plan falls through, than isn't it fine for the team to try to figure out how to make the game work (ie. guerrilla warefare/ attack a single unsuspecting enemy)?

Well if someone comes up to me and says to me "Hey how do I get better/get out of X elo" my most common response is "play Y champ" because thats the most easy way in getting someone to improve. But yea if you are just playing the game to have fun then play whatever you want and just ignore the others :)

certain combos aren't good. Let's say you pick blitzcrank into Leona because you like blitzcrank. and your adc doesn't have an escape , stun or bind. Blitzcrank could be a good choice early game because you mght be able to get a lvl 1 grab and kill someone... But later on, your skillset is completely countered. You have to look at the larger picture as well as your teammates do. I don't agree telling people what to do or play, because this game largely relies on the teamwork and effectiveness of teamplay that 5 individual people have to coordinate. However, if someone is playing a champ that is highly beneficial in a situation where you initiate, and they recommend you do something... that is called a suggestion. Regardless of how they say it, that person likely has the same skillcap as you, and you should consider their view of the game as well.

Unless it's ranked, I wouldn't really pay too much attention to them. However there are some champions that either don't work in that position, are weak in the current meta vs other champs, or just a bad combination with the team.
