So people and riot are trying to terminate toxicity, because it makes people uncomfortable and whatever, not even gonna mention that this is just what mute button is for, BUT, as everybody seems to have a different opinion on that, why isn't extreme positivity, i'm talking "^^ <3 @#!&*() and all this shitty things reportable too? It also makes me feel uncomfortable whenever i play with a person like that, and it is also tilting - well, in that case why can't i just mute the person? Well that's my fucking point about doing the same with toxicity.

The big difference is that nobody likes toxicity, and it serves no purpose. People like positivity, and it helps boost morale. Hence, why toxicity is explicitly against the rules, and positivity is well within the rules - encouraged, moreso.

If you really are upset or made uncomfortable by positivity, then you are one of an exceedingly rare minority. Though I know your "discomfort" is disingenuous and rhetorical.

Its not about making people uncomfortable , its about hurting people. How you can hurt someone when you tell him , well played man :3 or have a good luck at your next game guys <3

Riot trying to combat toxicity, is not for the reason that it makes people uncomfortable. The reason is that having prolific toxicity makes games less fun. People stop playing games they feel are less fun, thus diminishing the player base. Riot's ultimate goal is to grow the game's player base, not have it diminish.

not even gonna mention that this is just what mute button is for,

This is what it is for:

To prevent future negative chat behavior to affect you in this game. That is all it is for.

The option of reporting is to help prevent others from having to deal with the same shit you had to deal with.

BUT, as everybody seems to have a different opinion on that, why isn't extreme positivity, i'm talking "^^ <3 @#!&*() and all this shitty things reportable too? It also makes me feel uncomfortable whenever i play with a person like that, and it is also tilting - well, in that case why can't i just mute the person? Being positive in of itself is not against the rules. I'm sorry that you feel upset by someone giving encouragement to you and your teammates.

The specific things you mentioned ( ^^ <3 @#!&*() ), by themselves, are either positive or neutral. Riot is not going to punish people for being neutral in their language, and most definitely will not punish them for being positive. That would be counter productive to their mission of growing the game's player base.

The concept of "toxic positivity" either a) is rooted in sarcasm, as mentioned by iMidg3t (and thus, is reportable and punishable), or b) simply does not exist.

Once enough people quit the game for its extremely positive atmosphere, Riot will react to it. Until then, they will continue pandering to the majority for maximum profit, as they should. So to get the ball rolling, you should probably write a ticket to Riot support telling them people are making you uncomfortable with their positivity, and you cant play the game anymore until they do something about it. If enough people share your sentiment, Riot will be forced to do something about it, or risk losing shitloads of paying customers. (I think we both know that wont happen right? Cuz it sounds .. you know... crazy. Right? You know you sound like a crazy person?)
