Lag is a Punishable Offense

I have been playing this game since season 4 and, with that experience, have had to suffer the whole time with awful internet. It isn't at the point to where I always enter a game with 400 ms but that does happen and it can be quite unexpected and sudden. Now, I'm not a dick and have adapted by going into a custom game first to make sure I won't be a burden to my team, but sometimes it's completely unavoidable. More than one person live in my house, which poses a problem to my current internet situation as it can't handle anything more with its awful bandwidth output (my solution for that is asking them to disconnect their phones from wifi for a while to fix the problem). However, I have recently gotten a new provider which has boasted a slightly less shitty connection all around, but I'm making this post because I just got a low priority queue for lagging out in the first 5 minutes of the game. I understand that, with me disconnected and my champion sitting in fountain, I am bound to receive an afk warning and, with that, probably an unwarranted punishment. I am well aware that LeaverBuster doesn't comprehend it, but I actually was able to fix the problem and reconnect, receiving an S- and helping my team to win the game. All I ask from this is to either a.) make a ban/punishment appeal system or b.) help LeaverBuster understand the reconnect mechanic. I would have reported this to Riot Support but didn't know which category my situation would fall under or if it would at all. They'll probably just tell me i deserve it anyways. This goes out to all my fellow shitty internet patrons: I understand your pain.

This is working as intended. People with frequent technical issues are not collateral damage. Leaverbuster is just as much about punishing those cases as it is people who rage quit. Your connection is your responsibility and it is not acceptable to let that interfere with other players.

I feel your pain. My own internet goes out 10-20 times during the afternoon for 30 seconds to 2 minutes each. However, this would be a huge hindrance to my team and myself, so I only play during the night after it's stopped. I also run a ping to the NA server through Command Prompt (ping 104.160.131.1 -t) so there's no reason to jump in a custom and I can see lag spikes and packet loss even while playing.

The short of it is, even being absent for a short amount of time is really unfair to your team and puts them at a disadvantage. While sometimes you comeback and make up for that, more often than not the enemy gains a lead you can't get back and you are the cause of the team's loss and frustration. They don't deserve to deal with your internet any more than you do, but only you can spare them from it.

Riot can't just make an appeal system or "lag leniency" because people would easily abuse it to their advantage. Rare occurrences won't result in any or severe punishment, but people that continue to subject the other players to their personal issues will get higher and higher low priority queues and/or LP loss. This isn't to punish you for having bad internet, but to dissuade you from harming the other player's experience for failure to do something about it.

I suggest talking with your family or whoever else is on your network and setting aside an hour or more to play your games while they stay off any streaming or downloading that causes lag. If they refuse to do this, you'll have to avoid playing the times they do this, or continue to incur penalties for the trouble it causes the other players if you continue to play anyway.

Leaverbuster will treat all leaves equally regardless of intent because it still causes negative experiences for players. The lower priority queue is a good opportunity for players to resolve any connection issues before joining a game. Suspending them is not entirely helpful in resolving their issues, especially if it's unintentional. We have a few guides available to troubleshoot connection issues, as well as tools to gather logs for our tech team to assist you.

If you disconnected for a long enough time for Leaverbuster to mark you as a leaver, then you are subject to Leaverbuster's penalties, even if the disconnect was unintentional, because it creates a negative experience for the rest of the players.

Get a router with QoS controls and learn how to use them. No one in LOL should be burdened with your lazy networking setup.

I got 180 ping from Africa last summer you can do this.

Just imagine, im practicing using olaf in a coop vs ai game on intermediate, and half way in the game the bots decided to push mid lane, 3-4 of them, we ended up losing a bit of ground but its nothing if coordination was key, in which i tried so hard with the other 2 plyers who sticked with me, and the other 2 went afk at the fountain.

Now i understand if this would be in a normal or ranked game, but in a bot game is undenyably pathetic to see such players act like 5 year olds because they died a few times. I ended up trying to carry but ended up with a 6/14/2 score, now i push mid lane against vladamir and i dont think he liked me much til i hit his 2nd tower down, thats where 2-3 bots tried to go bot, i came in for support while minions did the work mid lane and ended up killing the bots bot lane.

not long after that, 3-4 bots, Vladamir, garen, warwick n mumu?, whatever u call him, eneded up pushing hard mid, 2 players went afk and we tried our best to hold off as we could, once the nexus was 1-4 ways to be destroyed, 1 player came back from being afk n we started making a push, but it wasnt enough in the end game it resulted in a loss.

I understand its a bot game, but allowing such fools to act shildish at times is a big burden on the new players trying hard to understand the fundamentals of the game...that being said im at a loss for words here...
