Maybe your attitude is what is causing negativity in your games?

Certain attitudes tend to attract specific responses/behaviors.

What do you think? Just some food for thought.

Maybe anger is a naturally occurring phenomenon among human beings?

Banning it sure hasn't made it go away.

Agreed, players who's first response is sarcasm or rhetorical questions or blaming when something goes wrong tend to elicit negative responses from the players they admonish.

I've found that it works much better to console the player and then talk about strategies or plans to prevent a similar mistake in the future. It's very important to not make the player feel like they are being singled out too, because that will also elicit negative responses from players that have already begun to tilt.

Your point is wasted on children. Many people would like to argue about how they shouldn't have to keep their emotions in check. Generally pathetic from my point of view.

I usually don't ever rage at my teammates but I can be sarcastic or dismissive of them if they're in a premade. I've encountered a lot of really toxic ones and over the years have developed a disgust for them - even duos. However, my recent experiences of constantly being forced onto teams with premades have helped me to to learn how to deal with them a bit better. Practice really does make perfect.

i tend not to respond to anything negative in the game an it often just boils over into people being more negative when other people start pileing in on the bullshit

no that isn't how it works. ive had geniuses tell me I'm trolled for communicating

no slurs no insults

"ty" "nice save" ect

there exact words where "maybe your trolled so much because you talk ingame" different game not league of legends still has a mute function

but this arrogant pos has the gal to try and tell me to "shut up" in game to which I replied "you know there is a mute function right?"

the only "toxic" <- extreme sarcsim comment I made before that ingenius load of bullshit which was a whisper after game was "so many trolls on tonight lol" he made that comment then blocked me before I could reply

most of you wont read this but the idea that league and other games are different in regards to player base is insanity the only differences games have are genre and the company managing them

if you aren't already following it I highly recommend you look up overwatch toxicity. you and that community are identical and the sadest part is blizzard knows the community is filled with what type of player so its easier to give in to the censorship crowd then simple let it fizzle out.

the point I'm making here is this. riot hasn't realized that the prisoners are and have been running the asylum ever since they removed tribunal. my buddy who was new and started just before it got taken down, for god knows what reason, noticed a steep decline in player behavior]r. the tribunal worked. why? peer to peer judgement not the current riot bullshit of trust me trust me which has a clear and slow decline in player behavior.

Considering my attitude is to mute all and never type in chat or spam ping, I think not! Although yea I do get some salty games that make my teammates salty too. Not my proudest moments.

The best example of this is a game I was in a while ago. The enemy team just kept flaming this soraka in all chat, and eventually just told her "You're so bad, you would be a bigger help if you just stayed in base and ulted." (Or something to that effect, probably with a lot more swearing.) Anyway, after that she sat in base and did nothing but ulted. The enemy team couldn't figure out why she decided not to help them.

I feel like you are correct some of the time, but other times you just get negative players. A few games ago, i was playing with a mundo that would get upset anytime someone said something. Our yi said "ward baron" and he responded by saying "stfu yi" and was tilted for no reason.

Negativity begets negativity, but some people don't care if they're yelled at too, so long as they get to yell. Telling them they'll get yelled at will do nothing. I've actually got two of these consistently argumentative folks on my friends list (extended groups) they don't get banned, chat restricted, they don't seem to care about the risk, and they don't even care that they're ruining their own friends' games (they change friends frequently). As long as they get to yell, everything's -fine- by them.

Positivity, also, tends to set off toxicity. You've just lost a team fight, but you know with a different approach this game is in the bag? You rally your teammates, 'we can do this!' - and then that one toxic player starts listing your team's mistakes and complaining how bad they are.

That is debatable. I can be the happiest clam in the softest wet sand, but when I pick Lulu to compliment my Twitch adc, and the rest of my team picks Lucian top against a Nasus, Then my jg picks Graves , then my mid picks Xerath... It is really hard to stay positive. This was a ranked, this happened. They wanted to ff, i would not let them. Against all odds we won the game. We were down 7.138 gold at 29 minutes in.

Also, I do use the mute button when need be, however it is frustrating for me to use it as a support main as i WANT to communicate with my team.

I believe in never forfeiting, i always try my best, but there is a serious side of league. Yes it is fun, but being competitive I want to win. Is winning everything? No. But it sure makes you feel a ton better when you lose a game if team is actually trying to win. When people troll or give up when it is 12 kills to 11 kills, it is hard to stay positive. Especially without comms, people tend to give up or troll more easily.

I agree, attitude plays a huge part when playing this game. However, there is a team attitude, and it only takes 1 person to unravel an entire team.

99% of the games played in league are not LCS, most of the time your team will not care about team comp, most people pick what they want and mute you if you question their pick (question as in = "Oh are you sure that would be a good pick into blank? It seems difficult." NOT= "wow trash pick muted gg.")

Overall, yes staying positive will help you be more confident in game and help you make better play thus leading to victory. However, you gotta realize that just because you are positive that doesn't mean you wont get matched with 4 negative people.

Just my experience.
