Honor Punishment And Honor Recovery - Levels Of Severity -
So to begin this letter i want to first state that i was an unsportsmanlike player, and i am currently as of 5/2/2018 reforming. I was directed to these forums by a Riot Assistant (Whom i got in contact with), and told to communicate my concerns with the current system here.
I was initially hit with the 10 game chat ban, and had all honor progress erased. I want to state that YES honors go to those who deserve it, those who maintain a positive outlook no matter how heated a game can become, and over time that level increases based on how many times you were honored. BUT, the current system doesn't punish those who tend to be less unsportsmanlike correctly. (In my opinion)
What i mean by this is those who have gone through the LONG process of accumulating all the honors they have, shouldn't be punished for a first time offence just as harshly as someone who is a repeat offender.
I'm am not referring to the penalty's overall Ex. 10 game chat ban, 14 day ban, etc.
I'm talking about the way the current system removes all honors no matter what the punishment is, it is unfair to have all the countless hours of play time and teamwork taken away in one instant. The amount of honor removed should be tweaked based on the number of offences and the severity of the offence.
Ex. (10 game chat ban)
- 1 honor Level and all current checkpoints.
(14 day ban)
- all current honor levels, reset to 1.
I believe with these changes, people who want to be better, and not play or act unsportsmanlike, will be more inclined to stay positive through fear of losing all honors completely. i also feel that with enough good sportsmanlike behavior people who have lost levels can somehow recover them, while this is a different issue i feel as if this could also be addressed.
While i know that this may seem like i'm vouching for toxic players, i'm not. I simply feel that all cases of this behavior shouldn't be handled with the same amount of punishment despite the offence, everyone deserves a second chance, and i feel that the current honor penalty system doesn't convey that properly.
