Why is Boosting a 2-week ban?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't account sharing an immediate permaban? Why is boosting, a more malicious act, which REQUIRES ACCOUNT SHARING only a two week ban if ACCOUNT SHARING is a perma? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

well they cant prove that someone else in fact played on the account.

with the 14 day ban means the next infraction leads to a perma ban

Sharing your account is against the ToS and you are risking a ban if you do it.

Now that this is out of the way: Riot's rules on account sharing are to my knowledge only selectively enforced. I don't recall a single case of somebody being permabanned purely for having another person play on their account for a limited amount of games, provided that there is absolutely zero ambiguity as to who the actual owner is and that this person is identical with the original creator.

Note that even if the other person is trustworthy and wouldn't ever claim your account as theirs, this kind of ambiguity can still happen. As an example I have seen before: The moment Riot knows you've shared your password with somebody else you are pretty much guaranteeing that you will never be able to recover your account if it gets hacked, since they won't know whether it actually was hacked, or whether somebody you gave the password to simply is considering this account to be theirs --> ambiguous account ownership --> Permaban.

Probably because they don't have high enough confidence in these bans for them to be permabans.

Also boosting eventually reverts it self, a silver player does not magically play in plat and holds on. Lol its the biggest lie in league that a lot of players are buying into, that they think they are stuck in a rank due to other players being bad.

So a 14 day pretty much stops them from getting the reward they don't deserve, next year when they play themselves they'll go back to where they belong anyway.
