Does Riot view chat logs in context?

The answer is no. Banter is bannable. Context doesn't matter.

Other behavior doesn't excuse your own, and neither hate speech nor telling someone to kill themselves is ever a joke or ever acceptable in League.

So you've called people "retarded" as well as other things that got censored. You even referred to "kys" while intentionally trying to avoid the detection.

What the hell were you expecting to happen? It's like you were trying to hit every single zero-tolerance term.

For zero tolerance phrases, it doesn't look at context at all. Riot says those words shouldn't be used in any circumstances.

For the standard machine learning, it looks at the context of whether the words you choose are of harassment nature. That's how it can detect and punish sarcasm.

Nope. You're not permitted to use the offensive zero-tolerance words regardless of your intent, situation or circumstances. They said you're not allowed to use anything against the policy. You'd know that if you read it.

It's all very simple. I don't know why people just disregard that and try to justify it by saying "But the contexts!". It's still not an excuse.

they do view logs if you make a support ticket (or post here sometimes)... but for the most part they don't, its just a bot that does automated banning

Hey, I asked you to show me my own experience in a new light and I do now see it in a different way. I was on tilt still but am fine now. Thank you for taking the time to respond to this thread that almost physically emits heat.

If it were just friendly banter, you wouldn't be getting reported.

Banter is bannable.

I'm not sure what your definition of the word "banter" is, but it sure as hell isn't the actual definition of banter.

Banter noun the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.

verb talk or exchange remarks in a good-humored teasing way.

Banter isn't bannable. Hate speech (which is what you got punished for) is.
