Instant feedback. Why it's anonymous?

Hi. I always try to report if there were hella of a toxic buddy wishing cancer to others or thier families or were inting but rarly recive some feedback message if they were punished. This week I saw 3 instant feedbacks so it's not like it don't happen, but still

  • are those people really punished?

  • or only those from games that were lost are?

And why instant feedback can't contain nick of said person and information for he was banned for and for how long, no matter if you reported that player or just played with/ against him? I don't find it that hard to add such feature to the client's code if we already recive feedbacks (as long as they are not randomly generated based on how much you reported people :D). It would not only satisfy people that are 'good' but it would also show those who are toxic themself that people are punished. Because as for now people write "you can report me if you like <insert bud words towards player> Riot don't give a sh*t about it" between wishing cancer and other diseases if not death to other players and giving away another kill because they want to lose game... It's 4 years since tribunal was closed and no major information about changes till now, I loved that and took part in it, im kind of Percy's Weasly type of character when it comes to such things and it actually changed my view to those things and make me climb two divisions with just my point of view to toxic players.

For why the Instant Feedback Reports are anonymous (not disclosing the screennames of punished players), AJStarhiker is spot on. Riot doesn't want folks starting witch-hunts or hounding out players to ascertain or badger them about their punishment status - they want the person filing the report to move on, and they want the person being reported to shape up and cause less negative experiences without being given to mistreatment themselves.

As for reports and punishment - it doesn't matter if the match was a win or a loss. Think of it like an AND logic gate in circuitry - two inputs need to be met for the output to be achieved. (it's a little more complex, but, here's the gist of it)

  • Was the player in question reported?
  • Did the player in question break the rules?

If both answers are Yes, then they'll be punished. That's just the bare-bones of it though - you also have to take into account severity/frequency, etc., but, the point is, if those criteria are met, then the player will be punished by the IFS.

And, one last thing - the Instant Feedback Reports are less of a means for players to know who got punished, but more a reassurance that your reports matter, which is another reason they're anonymous.

My guess? It's to avoid situations where someone may stalk another player to find out their punishment status. There is no need for us to know if someone is on a 10-game restriction or a permaban.

For example, if a player received a 10-game, they would rather that player shape up and never receive a second penalty (the majority of 1st time offenders). There are people who will try to bait players into losing their temper (I ran into one a few days ago), and knowing if someone has already been penalized, they may think it's an easy target for trolling and make the game unpleasent for everyone, not just their target.

It's basically the same reason they don't allow naming and shaming on the boards: they don't want witch hunts.

i dont think they want to give people more tools to figure out what you can get punished for.

im not sure why. wouldnt it be more fair if everyone knew exactly what you can and cant say? a lot of punishments are due to ignorance.

the only thing i can figure is the system is so incredibly weak that we would all be outraged at what doesnt get people punished and it would be very easy for people to be extremely toxic all the time if they knew more about how it works.
