Getting paired with harassing players after reporting them?
TLDR: got paired with a player that I reported for harassing me, only for him to then encourage everyone else in the game (including enemy team) to harass me as well, resulting in me having to sit through a 30 min ordeal of being harassed by 5+ people. Thanks Riot.
I was in a game of ARAM and wasn't doing so well (1/5/14) as Xayah. I noticed that it seemed like the enemy team was focusing me a lot for some weird reason (given that I was clearly not a threat). So I made a comment about how "I'm apparently the f****** tank" "they seem to be focusing the 1/5 Xayah for some reason". I expected this to get a "lol" or something from my teammates, because it was just humorous for them to be focusing the clearly shutdown ADC. Then the player in question immediately comments with "stop being whiny" (really?). I didn't respond back as I try to avoid clearly toxic players. He then proceeds to continue to harass me through our loss and in the lobby following the game, again I never said a thing back to him and only asked the enemy team to report him for harassment after he left the lobby.
I then reported him myself and qued up for another game of ARAM with a kind of "whatever" thought process hoping to do better in the next game. I get into game, and there's the player I just reported for harassment, and he immediately starts in with his harassment anew. I made the mistake of asking the rest of the team about my confusion in getting paired with someone I just reported. This REALLY set him off. He then started encouraging the other teammates into harassing me by informing them that I was a "whiner" and so forth. This continued into the game it's self as the moment we got into the game he started encouraging the enemy team to also join in the harassment as well as actively trying to sabotage me by using Tahm Kench's devour to throw me into the enemy team (I was playing Quinn this time). Just like before I never responded back and just tried to play as best as I could.
What bothers me the most is how such an incredibly unpleasant event could of been avoided with a simple act of just not letting the players pair together for a short period of time such as maybe an hour. During that time I could of played 2 - 3 games and completely forgot about him (and probably vice versa). Then if we got paired together neither party would even realize who the other was. Riot really needs to look into SOMETHING so that these kind of things (or worse) don't happen.
