So what is riot's stance on bought accounts, but for educational uses?

Like, you know how some streamers climb out of low elo, but do so on bought accounts with trash mmr? or do troll stuff but explain how you can still win as long as you farm and rotate well?

Im sure its still against the ToS because account sharing of any kind is bad, but does riot make an exception if said account can be proven to be for something useful?

I.e jay sea's depths of bronze series (legit admits first episode its a bought account)

The stance is that selling, buying, or trading accounts isn't allowed -- all account sharing is against the terms of use. Period. End of story.

There's so much of it going around that bans generally go out in large waves, but it's a lot like trying to cure the plague with a can of Lysol.

Per your question to Djinn: there was a pro player who was recently reprimanded for playing on a bought account while bootcamping in Korea (or something similar) as opposed to the account given to them by Riot. So it is in fact something that is enforced on all levels.

It's technically bannable, as is all account sharing, but in reality riot really doesn't crack down on it all too much unless it's an account that was leveled by bots or a bought account that's a way higher elo than the player buying the account.

Permitted if you have over 10,000 subscribers on Youtube, can hit 1,000+ concurrent viewers on Twitch, or play in the LCS. Same as anything. Still forbidden but becomes a wrist slap as long as you're an established content creator or pro player.
