Two Week Ban For First Offense

Why would a first time offender get a two week ban? The punishment system is designed to have tiered punishments based on how many offenses you've made.

First: 10 game chat restriction second: 25 game chat restriction Third: Two week ban Fourth: Perma

This system? Makes complete and total sense. The problem? This line:

"However, it is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. Excessive negative behavior can result in a Two-Week or Permanent suspension at any time without having a chat restriction on the account."

The ability to arbitrarily apply a different punishment based on "severity" is entirely too vague for a player base to follow properly. There's no guideline to what is or isn't considered severe and there's a difference among the support team between what individuals would find severe or not.

In my case, the words that i were reported for saying were bad. I'm not denying that what i said was bad and that i didn't deserve some form of punishment. The part i'm taking exception to is that I've been a player for over six years. I've never been punished before throughout those six years. I have an honor rating of 3 and two thirds. I log in often and get key fragments with the message saying they were a reward for being honored recently.

I had one, ONE bad game where someone on my team insta-locked the champion my friend wanted to play and the proceed to troll in chat and intentionally feed in game. I said something bad to them that i shouldn't have, but they got under my skin and i was angry because i took a ranked loss for it.

I log in a few days later to a two week ban for the chat log. Never been banned previously. Didn't even get a warning for being reported. Nothing. Just banned. I've played this game for six years. I've seen people say much, much worse than what i said (For context, i told the person to "get cancer", which admittedly was stupid, but not nearly as bad as what others have said in the past)

Two weeks for "get cancer". One time. Honor level 3. No prior history of bad behavior.

Come on.

Its prett simple. Dont use hate speech or tell people to kill themselves. I dont really think I need to explain how calling someone stupid and calling someone the N word differ in severity. Its common sense

The rules are very clear and easy to understand. General toxicity gets a tier one ban which stacks up to a tier 4 perma but certain zero tolerance words or phrases will earn harsher punishments, straight up to the tier three 14 day ban.

Similar to real life, getting multiple tickets will get a person punished and eventually jailed if their behavior continues though certain actions will avoid fines and skip straight to jail time.

It's not that complex and any complexity in the system is only there so trolls don't find a way to abuse the system.

Yeah when being toxic remember to stay away from "kys", "cancer" or the n word and you'll generally be okay.

Also being toxic in a critical way isn't a bad thing. I could say "Ashe your build path is bad" but that won't make her change it. If I ping her items and say "0 AD" "Twice 0 is fucking 0" she'll be like "Oh maybe rushing Runaans and Berzerkers Greaves is a terrible idea" and change

"Get cancer" implies "k*s". That's totally not-tolerated speech in League of Legends.

Please don't let these bandwagon people riot pays to downvote you influence any rational people out there who read this. The fact is the person has been playing for 6 years, has a pristine record, which essentially means they have played hundreds if not thousands of games and not once have they had a warning issued. Look at the sample size here.

Now, they are having a bad day....someone trolls them in champ select and proceeds to be a jerk towards them and their friend. In anger they snap back and say a word that riot has restricted.

We aren't arguing if what they said was right, they know it wasn't...they've admitted that. What they are wondering, and what I am wondering.... because THIS EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME UNDER VIRTUALLY THE EXACT SAME CIRCUMSTANCES yesterday is ..... why a two week ban for a LONG TIME player (this matters because they've shown through sample size they are not a problem) player who had a small lapse in judgment. How are you showing any loyalty to this player for jumping them straight to tier three after they have shown your game good behavior for the past 6 years.

I do not understand the rationale you downvoters use. I understand you are sticking up for people, the OP ADMITTED they were wrong, they understand what they did and why they shouldn't do it again.... Why do you feel the need to keep this person from playing a game they are clearly passionate about when they haven't been a problem for years and you know they aren't gonna do it again and if they do then just ban them. But a first time 14 penalty for something said in chat is beyond ridiculous and shows absolutely no loyalty towards long standing well behaved players.
