So I'll admit. What I did to a troll/toxic player was far worse than what he did to me.
So basically. This guy apparently was being particularly douchey in champ select. He wanted to play Rakan but I had support and he gets stuck as jungler. So he proceeds to go, "I'm so sick of these wannabe supports all taking support when the new champ comes out." He says while I'm highlighting Rakan. Note, he could just ASK to play support and ask for Rakan.
Me: I'm a wannabe support? (Support is my main role)
Him: Yes. You are. Bans Rakan
His teammates: Rekt! Get destroyed!
Him: Always ban the new champions even in norms! Don't want some dumbass to play and mess them up.
So the dude purposely bans the champion on purpose JUST to spite me while laughing and mocking me, then after that, his teammate quickly bans Lulu (my main support). So i'm pretty much left with no champions I want to play.
So I lock in Ivern and take smite. While he and his teammates continue to bash me.
Immediately as the game starts, we set up his leash and I smite his blue, stealing all the gold and exp and leaving him with nothing. I also proceed to steal his gromp and wolves every chance I get, just to ruin his game because of how much of a douche he was.
Note: I still managed to get my ADC fed because I was level 2 super super early and we just bullied the hell of the enemy botlane. And while he was struggling to get kills on Jungle Pantheon, my ADC and mid laner were doing very well.
I officially ruined his game and proceeded to make him pay for being a douchebag.
....however I realized that I was being far far more toxic than he was. While he probably deserved it and he probably got so incredibly angry (and god it felt so damn good watching him writhe and rage while I kept silent and kept playing the game), I realized I had no reason to ever stoop to that level.
I allowed my anger and my own want of revenge to cloud my judgement and become far worse than he was. I became the bigger bully instead of being the bigger man and just playing the game out.
Don't become the better troll. Be the better man. I'm going to try and be that from now on.
