AFKS are getting more and more frequent, we should discuss this

Well I should start saying that I am very upset with the current state of the game, and I know that a lot of players feel the same, and although we have a million things to discuss, I would like to raise the discussion towards something more specific then "skill base matchmaking". Recently I have been losing a lot of games (and winning too), because of players going AFK, and that is a behaviour that shouldnt go unpunished. I get that we cannot simply "dont lose points" when someone is AFK since this would be easily exploited by those players who in my opinion have a doubtful character to say the least, and also because we cannot predict power outages and other adversities. But why not have some kind of filter for words that are written in the chat? phrases like "I have to go, bye" together with player inactivity should be enough proof that it was a deliberated action and not a power outage, I am not saying that after having enough proof you should strip this player of all his lp, or that we should not lose lps when players are inactive, but restoring half of the lp that was lost in the given match for the players that were active would be a good start or give us anything to encourage us to play more and to not follow the action of those who go AFK after every minor inconvenience or start games when they know they dont got the time to finish a match. Imagine login in the game and recieving a mesage that you are being gifted some of that lp that you lost when a player "trolled" your game by going AFK, would make players feel more safe, they would feel that there actually is some punishment for going AFK. Maybe my idea sucks, but surely a company as big as riot could do something if they actualy wanted to fix this kind of behaviour and not treat us, who actualy play the game without trolling, like we dont matter.

EDIT: "LeaverBuster is a system we have implemented in order to discourage Summoners from repeatedly leaving matches and/or idling during gameplay. Summoners who exhibit this behavior and have a trend of leaving/idling in games will be placed in a low priority queue." that actually feel the same way as saying that they are going unpunished, and doesnt afect the players that actualy suffer (those poor souls who have to keep playing with -1 player on their team) with this kind of behaviour

People already try to abuse this system and it doesn't even exist yet, on numerous occasions I have seen players say "Moms in hospital, gotta go" right before they go AFK cause they lost lane and think typing an emergency in chat will save them from some sort of manual review. Also not everyone types when they leave a game.

or that we should not lose lps when players are inactive, but restoring half of the lp that was lost in the given match for the players that were active

Stop obsessing over climbing, I know this is such a difficult concept for some people but just play the game for fun and only worry about what you can control. I swear some people only play this game for the addiction of progressing up the ranks. Your LP and rank also doesn't make you a better player, whether you have 70 LP or 50 LP, you're the same exact skill level so this "get half your LP" back solves nothing in regards to your actual skill, it just feeds your rewards based gaming addiction.

would be a good start or give us anything to encourage us to play more and to not follow the action of those who go AFK after every minor inconvenience or start games when they know they dont got the time to finish a match.

You shouldn't need a reward to finish out the game, you agreed to finish the game when you queued up.

they would feel that there actually is some punishment for going AFK.

Your feelings don't matter when it comes to developing a good system.

It honestly doesn't matter because if players get punished for leaving, they'll just AFK at towers instead to avoid punishment. I agree with you though, I see more games that have AFKers than not.
