Why do people get so upset when you compliment them on their lucky game?

Because telling someone they had a lucky victory is not a compliment, it's a backhanded insult generally used to mean they don't deserve their victory.
What do you mean "Lucky"? Like you are saying congrats on the lucky win? If so I'm sure you can figure out why they would get upset when you say that.

Lol calling it lucky basically dismisses any sort of effort and skill they had put it into it to make it a win. Should be obvious bro. But i know youre just trying to hit a nerve with people xD

Lucky would mean he didn't deserve to win due to his weak skills but had teammates hard carry him out to victory. Which isn't a pleasurable experience.
9 months later and people still don't bother to say thanks when you compliment them on their lucky game! No idea why people are so rude and toxic in this game.
I'm sad to say that there are still many players who seem to get upset when you compliment them on their good luck when they win the game. A lot seem to mention crying (not sure why they are crying, anyone know?).
It boggles my mind.

Sadly this is the sort of toxicity you get in this games. I was being polite in complimenting the winning team and a particularly lucky player, yet all I got was a load of abuse.
People should be ashamed of themselves. Riot should clean up the game and get these players banned.
