The edge of what is and isn't inting, IMO

If someone is literally running down mid and dying repeatedly, that's definitely inting. If someone has over 20 deaths, very low kills/assists, it's almost certainly inting. But, if someone is losing lane and doing poorly, at what moment do they start inting?

Lets set up a scenario. Garen top VS Fiora. Garen is getting completely rekt, he's 0/4 and the CS is 17 to 60. It's about 10 minutes into the game. He is not inting if -he gets ganked turret dived 2v1 -he gets turret dived 1v1 -he gets flashed on and/or killed from a long range -he gets ganked and killed before he gets under tower -he gets inseced or stunlocked by a jungler

He is inting if -He continues to walk up to fight fiora, knowing that it's definitely going to be death, repeatedly. (While getting 0 cs for it)

You can't tell me that repeatedly walking up to a champion you know will kill you isn't inting. You know you are going to die if this happens, and you do it anyway. That's by definition intentionally feeding/dying. If you can't recognize that you can't fight them after dying 3 times and being at a large CS disadvantage, then I am seriously questioning how you manage to get through the process of downloading league in the first place.

Let's have a chat here. I play Illaoi sometimes. My Illaoi playstyle is very CS oriented. In a good game, I'll have around 9-10 cs per minute top lane (yeah it's not the best but it's usually 40-50 more than anyone else in the game in my elo). I'll go very negative (handful of kills, sometimes 10+ deaths). I will continuously walk into an enemy, giving them 50-150 more gold, but in exchange I'll get 20+ more CS (which more than makes up the gold difference).

I will end up with the most damage done, or if not I will be a big portion of the win (not all of it, maybe not even half, but a decent sizable portion of the reason we won).

Are you actually trying to tell me that I'm inting by doing that?

It only takes one death to be an intentional feeder.

What if said Garen is 0/4/0 and still try to 1v1 that fed Fiora? He of course will die but because he's "trying" Riot will not punish him as in their eyes its not int

The difference between bad game and inting is really the mental state of the player and the only thing we can do is try to infer what their mental state is by observing their behavior.

If there's a person who is very stubborn and really vindictive and wants that kill and keeps going in and ignoring CS, that's just bad playing.

If there's a person who has given up and just wants to let their lane snowball to end the game faster and keeps going in and ignoring CS, that's intentional feeding.

Since I don't know the player from a hole in the wall, I have to make a best guess when observing them. When they chat, it's a lot easier to tell when they're trolling because they usually troll you in chat in addition to trolling you through their game play.

The hard ones to figure out are the silent trollers, especially the ones who build items and look like they're trying to last hit but failing, etc...

Actually, that's the definition for insanity, doing the same thing and expecting different results. :P

Some people think "Well if I just __ this time-" or "I wasn't prepared for that damage last time." You gotta give people the benefit of the doubt. I honestly doubt you can tell me with a straight face you haven't gone 0/5 in lane despite trying really hard not to feed.

The fact of the matter is that people have different play styles. Some prefer slow games with a focus on objectives - typically these players have modest kill counts but also modest death counts. Others prefer more aggressive play, with a focus on crushing the opponent - typically these players have feast or famine games, either stomping or feeding. Both styles are valid styles at all levels of play. Here's an example, the 13th ranked Challenger player with a string of just such a famine.

Just because someone is doing poorly doesn't mean they're feeding intentionally.

Int stands for intentional.

Lets say Garen was inting- You now have to play vs a 20/0 Fiora whom you have no chance of winning against. Fun experience.

Lets say Garen had "just a bad game"- You now have to play vs a 20/0 Fiora whom you have no chance of winning against. Fun experience.

At some point, "intent" shouldn't matter.
