My friend just got banned for botting but I know that it's a mistake

My friends and I have started playing together in an office that we have and I got one of my friends who had never played league to try it out with us. We walked him through making an account and have been playing league with him for a few months. He really likes to play Heimerdinger because his reactions aren't so fast and he likes to have the turrets there to help out. We have been playing a lot of Twisted Treeline intermediate bots together because he says he's not ready for a lot of pvp yet (we still want him to get better though so we've been playing intermediate even though he has a little trouble).

He's recently called me up saying that his account has been permanently banned for Botting and he was thinking of just quitting league. This absolutely breaks my heart because I know that he's never botted because he plays on one of my computers and our group has played with him in some combination every game since his account started. He doesn't even act remotely like a bot in game (he will chat in champ select sometimes and he sometimes buys the same item twice and he misses a lot of skill shots).

I wanna know if there is anything I can do about it because he's put in a support ticket but I can tell that he is really demoralized and like I said he's considering quitting and honestly I'd hate to play without him and may quit too.
