Isn't permanent bans way too much?

(Before you downvote this, let me clarify this: I was close to get a permaban two times I'm my entire League career. I got my first 2-week suspension 2 years ago and my second one last year. I got my first suspension because I was a total idiot, but my second suspension was one of the dumpest suspensions I have ever seen. My behavior has been slightly improved. I see someone toxic? I mute and after the game, i report).

Don't you guys think that permabanning people is a bit too much? I mean, I have seen people saying even worse, for example people that say "homophobic slurs" ,are not gettinf banned, but people that don't say any single offensive thing, are getting banned. Also I believe that permabans are bringing worse fame to League. In my opinion, knowing that permabans exist, they make league players even more toxic even those who didn't get any single suspension because they afraid of it.They also hurt bussiness. It makes them feeling unsecured because they might get one while they put all their efforts to improve their accounts collection or giving money and after that, they might stop spending money. For me personally, 1-month suspension after a 2-week suspension instead of a permaban would work just fine.

(Edit: The purpose of this topic is not meant say "toxicity and negative abuse is a good thing", I was just considered some negative stuffs of being permabanned that may hurt the game, not to encourage toxicity or negative abuse, and i wanted to read your thoughts on that)

You aren't likely to get a perma for one verbal slip up in one single instance; exception possibly pre-30 if they have labeled you a smurf.

To get perma'd for verbal means you most likely worked through the punishment tiers: 10 game CR 25 Game CR 14 day ban Perm. It is possible to skip the Chat Restrictions if you use Zero Tolerance though, which includes slurs.

You do demonstarte thay you can drop punishment tiers by having neutral behavior or better though.

I would like you to show me even a single case of this being true.

I don't understand the logic here. How does knowing your account is going to be gone forever if you continue your attitude make you more toxic?

They also hurt bussiness.

So does having players who go out of their way to belittle and treat their allies like shit no matter the circumstance.

It makes them feeling unsecured because they might get one while they put all their efforts to improve their accounts collection or giving money and after that, they might stop spending money.

They don't care about you spending money at that point, they just want you gone.

That's you, that isn't everyone, the system used to be far more leninent and be far harder to get a permaban, having to rack up constant 14 day bans to finally get a permaban and an overwhelming majority of those player just kept coming back and continuing to be toxic.

I have never been even chat restricted, however I feel the same. IMO permanent bans should be reserved for cheaters and actually illegal speech like threatening someone harm or something, not mere toxicity. That being said, it's Riot's game and they want to keep it as friendly as possible, and I kind of agree with that mentality in principle since arguing in chat will only ever lead to everyone involved playing worse, and I want people that concentrate on playing instead of chatting. (Which is why I also want an opt-in voice chat in league)

Riot used to have indeffinately scaling punishments (perm bans still exists but were a complete last resort; they wanted people to play)

but sadly those said people found ways around their punishments to continue doing what thy were doing, so Riot yeeted the old system and gave us this new one

you get 1-4 chances to make sure you don't get permaed

and they warn you after the 14 day suspension "Hey; you goofed up. We're watching. Continue this, and you get the boot and shown the door."

they have found that this works far better, as the majority of people who get perm banned do not return to league, only a minority do return

Riot has said multiple times they're not interested in finding ways for extremely toxic people to keep playing - they want them to stop playing. Follow the rules and keep your account. It really is that goddamn simple.

you need to get punsihed 4 times or 2 or you do something like inting that is 14 days ban first offence.

4 times and or inting and being toxic 2 times is alot and should be reworded with a perma.
