Non-meta builds and player reactions

just had a game with ryze, decided to try a new build in which i dont build ap items, instead I go ad and mana ryze. toplaner doesnt like it, starts harassing me over it, and says it was my fault kat gets fed when ive only died around 1-2 times to her in the midgame... before she was fed by other lanes. claims its my fault she roamed... i pinged them, they didnt listen. then goes on about a lot of stuff and saying my build is wrong and i should sell it. wth? For the matter, i actually had the least deaths with my adc between both teams that game, and quite a bunch of kill participation. what is wrong with people when they see something different.

Honestly, it probably was your fault. AD Ryze is pretty awful (his kit gives nothing to it, his autos are slow).

The Kat probably took advantage of you being a useless non-threat to shove waves and free roam.

The reactions are a problem, but playing crap like that just proves them right.

it doesn't matter how you performed. Yes, the perception of off-meta is sickening.

Ryze has literally no AD scaling, so that can’t be beneficial.

The only appropriate thing to do would be ADC ryze - where you were basing it on autos. The midlander, top, and jungle are not supposed to be auto attack champs in the current meta... but there’s nothing wrong with being against the meta.

You, however, seem to have done so with the sole intention of being a jerk to your team. You furthermore continued building such even after you discovered it wasn’t optimal for your situation.
