Can a permaban be revoked if your account was compromised?

I don't really know how these situations play out as I have never had an issue with suspensions and bans; however I recently logged into my account to try TFT with a couple of friends to discover my account has been permanently banned. I wasn't sure what I had done but assumed I was toxic in a game I had long ago (granted I also thought it was weird I got an instant perma-ban because I never had caused problems and would be supportive or helpful to anyone) and the chat was shown to me which made me question it all as there was chat behaviour that does not match my own such as abbreviations like 'af' and 'smh'. I looked into it and found on my match history my account had suddenly been playing ranked games from November last year but I haven't played since 2017 (I found my last matches in the history) which I know are my games because I mostly just played ARAM's and on a rare occasion Normal SR games using mixed characters as a Jungle, Mid, or Support player (all the ranked matches were top lane which I did not play). I had made screenshots showing the games I played and then the sudden change whilst I was not using my account and have submitted a ticket including them, but can it be fixed so that I can sort out some new protection for my account? I really hope I don't just lose my account because someone got in.

It's worth a support ticket, but in cases of long absences from the game it is sometimes determined that you did not take proper steps to secure the account or make sure it remained uncompromised. So definitely send in a ticket, but understand that it's not a surefire thing.

Thank you all for your feedback, Riot got back to me and had found it had indeed been compromised, and the account will be returned. I feel relieved :)

Yeah, I have a feeling it's not going to be a recovery sadly because the person was active for around a month on the account before the ban was created, however it's unfortunate because there was nothing to imply my account was even compromised. I checked back in November of 2018 when they got in, no e-mails of password changing, no warnings or anything. Last time I checked there was no phone code lock either, that isn't a thing for LoL is it? I think at most is hope I can talk to someone and show screenshots and provide as much evidence as possible maybe?

I appreciate all the information by the way. Just don't want to feel like I have just randomly lost my account; however what makes it worse is if I had actually come and played arams with my friends whenever they had been asking over the last like year and a half, I could've seen something was happening lol only caught it for wanting to try TFT :D oh and no, I never share my accounts and passwords for anything.

Guys please, I wasn't trying to get things to get out of hand about it all. I understand what you both refer to and there is merit in it in their own scenarios, but I will say that once again, No, I didn't use any external programs, no, I didn't allow random things to bypass my defender and firewalls, no, I did not disable my defender because that is just asking for trouble, and lastly no, I did not share my information.

What I can say is that it is weird for me to see my account got accessed and used almost a year after my last time online and whoever it was didn't even try change the password (that's why I never realised it was stolen, no password change email notifcations) which I know do provide a password change email because I just changed it yesterday after supplying the information for the ticket.

Honestly wonder why Riot isn't using a phone app 8 code token or something for phone or physical though, never had issues with WoW with one.
