Perma-Banning should be changed to Perma-Muting

Hello as being a perma banned player after a year i see people might say hey you are just salty but hear me out. See as a business you would want to generate income correct? Well permanently banning accounts that have a lot of time and money in them is not a good idea. I had a long discussion with many people and business masters in my university and we came to an agreement to keep Riot earning the most money from common players it would be best to permanently mute players to a certain degree, Maybe them take courses and tests to earn the right to speak in chat again. Because of all the money and time i put into that account and so if i ever create another account again i wont spend any money or as much time. Because i will always have that fear if oh what if i get a bad game or get report spammed by a group who doesnt' like the way i play. But if i was just perma muted i would not need to worry since league is making pings more flexable and you can play a game just by pinging now it would work a lot better. And with all the time i spent on that account id still be buying skins because it would be worth it in my mind for with the account i had.

Let me know what all you guys think about this. :)

Riot actually INTENTIONALLY sacrifices this potential income in the interest of building a better community.

They've tested unending chat restrictions and mutes in the past. They were not happy with the results. The current system is a conscious choice in their part, and one that definitely weighs the potential revenue loss from toxic players, and the potential revenue gain from a less toxic community. I assure you Riot has definitely thought of that. :)

Short Answer: They tried that and it didn't work. Long Answer: Back before the IFS was implemented it was possible to players to get ever increasing chat restrictions. Some would get so many that it was effectively a perma-mute. The big main problem was that allot of these players would just switch to other more difficult to detect/prove forms of griefing (i.e. intentionally feeding, gameplay trolling, etc.), and it was because of this that Riot scrapped that system and implemented the IFS instead.

This question/suggestion comes up allot and the answer is always the same: Riot won't do it because they tried it before and it didn't work.

Riot doesn't want money from people who get permabanned. They want them to go away.

They would lose more money from toxic players ruining games (and discouraging people from playing) than they would from banning the toxic players.

Communication is a key part of the game. Something like "ward this brush" and "buy some armor" dramatically change the pace of the game. This is why riot decided to chat restrict individuals and not mute them entirely. Even with the new ping system, there are some things needed to be said in chat.

I think the biggest and most important factor is that if you're a "toxic" individual, you run the real psychological risk of losing your entire investment into the game. That's the motivation for people to control what they say. Previously, individuals would rack up thousands of games of chat restriction and still be just as degrading to the game before the restriction. Mutes aren't a solution.

First things first take responsibility for your actions you don't earn a perma ban from a group choosing to all report you or a couple of bad games you EARN perma bans by choosing to behave in a certain way that both riot and the community have deemed as toxic and unacceptable. Second just because someone is muted doesn't stop them from switching to other forms of toxicity such as simply running it down mid.

From Riot's past experiences, if they don't reform after 3 opportunities, they chances of them reforming is so low and the damage they deal to them community is much higher. Thus they permaban and it is their way of saying that they actually want you out of the game, and not want your money.
