Reporting for Crashing

During a League of Legends match my brother and I were going bot lane together. We weren't doing so hot at the beginning of the fight, and what made things worse was when his entire League game froze to the point where he couldn't move, click, or alt-F4 out of the game. He was stuck till shutdown and turn back on, but even afterwards it would just freeze again.

That's not the problem here, the problem here is that during the game, one of our teammates said "It's hard doing a 4v5", to that point, the opposing team asked who it was. I told them that the person who was out was out because his game crashed and he couldn't rejoin, but they said they we're going to report him. Even the ally team said it wouldn't be fair to report a person for crashing, but the opposing team, (Zilean and Bard, a duo who didn't have a club duo but you could tell from their names, and a Kled) said they didn't care and that a report is a report. I think that it is awful for people to heartlessly report someone when they can't experience the same difficult situation that their opponent is going through, yet it's nothing that can be stopped. To make thing worse, Zilean stated that he was going to report me for defending a person who disconnected, which is just total bogus. This is the after-game chat.

Zilean: report rakan Bard: who are we reporting? Zilean: fuckin leaver Kled: rakon Bard: already dione Kled: ok Death Strikar: But that's not fair. Kled: done Kled: gg Guy on our team left the lobby Death Strikar NURK!: And lying is the worst thing you can do. Guy on our team: gg Zilean: afk is afk i dont make the rules

afk isn't afk, the person they reported didn't choose to not play, he just couldn't. You shouldn't be reported for having an event that had NEVER happened before, mind you, just inconvenience you in one game. I just hope I can defend my bro here, because he shouldn't get leaverbuster for people acting like jerks.

LeaveBuster does not required report to work. Whether or not anyone in that game reported your brother, if he dc for more than 5 minutes, he WILL be hit by LeaveBuster. The threat of report for afk is meaningless and the act of reporting someone for afk is equally meaningless.

It's easy to prove what I said above. Get into a game, take your hands off the keyboard for 5 minutes, you will be hit with LeaveBuster BEFORE anyone even have a chance to report you at post game.

Realistically speaking as long as your brother doesn't crash frequently, those reports pose no threat. Worst case scenario he'll receive a small leaver-buster, but ultimately no severe penalties to his account.

You don't have to defend him, I'm almost positive he's not going to receive any sort of serious punishment unless he crashes/AFKs/DCs frequently.

Although you will need to remove the names from your post, as that could be in violation of our Name & Shame rule.

Anyone can report someone for anything, but false reports get thrown out.

Leaverbuster handles situations where people leave games. If your brother doesn't leave games (for whatever reason) frequently, then he's in no danger.

You're in no danger of being punished for defending him, unless your defending of him broke the rules by crossing the line into negative or abusive chat, which derails the game even more.
