Why is it that 95% of Players Allow Themselves to be Trolled?

Something I've noticed in champion select over the years is that almost no one will ever dodge a troll pick, a player who is clearly on tilt, or someone who makes it clearly obvious that they are trolling such as grabbing smite on purpose even though they aren't jungle, stealing someone's role, or banning an ally's first pick and then stealing their second pick just to name a few examples.

Few people will actually dodge this crap. They just roll with it.

I can understand no one wants to deal with the LP loss or the time out, but going into a guaranteed loss is even more LP and time lost on top of MMR lost.

This is part of the reason why trolls have so much power over the community. Players don't usually dodge them. And even if someone does dodge the troll, the troll remains in queue and they remain in queue for however long it takes for them to end up with players they can victimize, players who won't dodge them.

Why is it that so few players are actually willing to dodge? Why is it that most players are content to just play it out and report after?

There's obviously no way to salvage a game clearly lost at champion select. So, is it purely out of spite? Is there a "If you're taking me down, I'm taking you down with me" mentality? Or are players so full of themselves that they honestly believe themselves skilled enough to overcome the troll and solo hard carry their team to victory?

If trolling always resulted in dodges then more people would troll champ selects.

Some people don't dodge in the hopes that someone else will at the very last second (including the troll). Some suck it up and want to try despite the disadvantage. Some people are willing to eat the loss so that they can report the troll and try to make the community a little better.

Any complaint about those reasons is irrelevant if you intend on dodging yourself though.

Other people's decision to not dodge wont prevent you from dodging, so it doesn't really matter what other people will do if you intend on dodging under such circumstances.

The only reason I could see people having a problem with others not dodging in the face of a troll is if they were the player threatening to troll to try and force a dodge and they're just upset that their bluff was called (because they don't want a loss either).

Actually dodging would give them just what they want since they exerted their power without losing anything.

If you dodge, the time and LP loss are guaranteed. If you stay, there's a chance at least one of the enemies is worse than a troll, or also trolling.

Just because you think it's trolling doesn't mean it's really trolling.

If they prove to troll, then I'd rather report them after the game so they can be banned.

Because dodging is itself unrespectable action, just as bad or perhaps worse as the other issues you listed. Sure, the troll should get in a lot of trouble for trying to ruin the match, but so should you for dodging it.

Mute them, play the match, report them after.

There are no guaranteed losses. Even when someone promises to troll because they don't like your pick. They may or may not follow through.

If you don't dodge it'll be some other team that idiot trolls. Be a saint, tie up their time, DO NOT accept surrender, and report them after the game.

Because of the two penalities dodging make you suffer

And dodging timer is placed on all queues for some reason so even more reasons to not dodge

And because only one of them will get that penality, so you get discouraged to "take one for the team" every time

Now I ask you why would you inflict a penality on yourself because of a troll you have nothing to do with?
