Why the current /remake does not work

The current /remake function promotes players with an AFKer to idle for three minutes if a player is AFK to initiate the remake. If the AFKer comes back at 2:59, one is not able to do anything, and the enemy has been given a substantial lead in all lanes and a free jungle. It basically demotes sportsmanlike players who want to play and hope for the AFKer to come back, which I find weird in a competitive game. If one gets a First Blood, like in a game I was in, the remake is cancelled. Botlane can for example stay unaffected by other lanes for pretty long, so I find this a weird decision. A First Blood does not mean that four players can win against five - that is a rather broken logic.

My suggestion is that one should not take First Blood into account at all, nor should one be penalized for trying one's best while waiting for the AFK player:

  • If a player stays inactive for 3 minutes at the start of the game, one should be able to /remake - no if/ and/ or.
  • If one player has stayed inactive for 80% or more at the ten minute mark, one should still be able to /remake.
  • After ten minutes, if a player suddenly is AFK for three minutes, he is switched out with another player who has accepted the additional queue function Defender.

New queue function: Defender You can select this function while queuing up for games and be used as a filler in games with AFKers. This will net you with a 200% IP gain for the match.

There's a few points where you are incorrect.

If the AFKer comes back at 2:59, one is not able to do anything, and the enemy has been given a substantial lead in all lanes and a free jungle.

That is false. A remake can still occur that situation. A player only needs to be inactive for at least 90 seconds for the first 3 minutes for a remake to be valid.

If one gets a First Blood, like in a game I was in, the remake is cancelled.

Not necessarily. First blood will only prevent a remake if it happens before someone leaves. If someone has already left, then first blood will do nothing to stop a remake. Also, the first blood needs to be against the short-handed team before the AFKer leaves.

Now, I have seen some posts where people are claiming they can't remake when it should be available. I don't know if they are true or not, but I do admit that there could be bugs in the system. What I've stated above, though, is how the system should work based on the information that Riot has provided here.

As a side note, DO NOT DO THIS. If you have an AFK/leaver on your team and you want to remake, you should still continue playing the game as normal up to the point where you can remake the game. Why? Because once a game is remade, the "leaver" penalty does not only go to the initial leaver, it will be handed out to everyone who is marked as AFK at the time the remake occurs. This means that if your team plans on remaking the game and you stand/run around your base for 3 minutes waiting for it, you will be marked as AFK and receive the leaver penalty.

" If one gets a First Blood, like in a game I was in, the remake is cancelled. "

This is inaccurate. I was once told that if someone gets a kill before 3 minutes, then you cannot remake. However, I was in a game a few days ago and the enemy team got the first blood in less than three minutes. Yet, they were still able to remake the game because their mid laner was AFK (janna mid, lol wtf!!)
