Rage quitting ranked games needs to be made zero tolerance.

I just encountered a player who has been Diamond for six years. They rage quit within the first 6 minutes of the game.

Our Thresh died to their opponent (Zoe) in a level 1 invade. The player called Thresh a 'fucking retard' and told him to kill himself. Around 5-6 minutes, the player died again, and left the game.

After reporting this player, I decided to look at their history, and they have four games where they did the same thing in the past month.

It's completely unacceptable that someone can get away with rage quitting ranked games, especially at Diamond, this many times. The system clearly isn't working properly and needs to be improved, as it seems to be letting players get away without punishment as long as they don't rage quit all of their games in a short time span.

How do you differentiate between a computer crash, client crash, internet crash, and a RQ?

Riot, with the possible exception of a client crash, has no way of telling the difference between them, because there is no way without physically monitoring somebody.

Yes, it's shitty when someone AFKs, especially in a ranked match. But there exist zero ways for Riot to tell if you actually RQ or if your computer or internet shit the bed that aren't illegal.

the punishment for afk is a 20 minute timeout. waste your own time for wasting other peoples' time.

With your posts history here at Boards, I'm honestly certain that you do not have the rights to mention this lol.
