Perma Ban Rehabilitation

Hello Everyone!

As a player who was recently perma banned a couple weeks ago due to toxicity, I have spent a lot of time thinking about my situation and others who sadly share the same fate. I have played League of Legends for over 5+ Years, and I find that though the community can be harsh at times, (not excluding myself) I truly love playing this game, and was very saddened when I was perma banned as I was unclear that I was even at that stage of penalties. Attempting to get my account un banned by speaking to a League representative, has lead me to this chat to share some of my thoughts and ideas in hope to make a change in our league community. During my chat with the representative I learned that though I have played for over 5+ years my penalties leading to my perma ban started only 10 months ago, finding that my last 10 months defined my many years of play saddened me, but I had to face the reality that instead of doing the right thing and muting others I merely added fire to the flame with my contributing rants. But what hurt even more was to find that there was no system in place to redeem my account that had countless hours of play and $$ spent. This is where I hope to focus this discussion to share alternative ideas regarding how we penalize our players and creation of a system to rehabilitate perma banned accounts. Having learned that perma banned players make up about 0.03% of the community, though small I feel the majority of these players have strong feelings towards the game, such feelings that bring about some of the confrontation that leads to these situations. And that like me want to once again join the community. These players should not be forever ignored and shunned out, if people in our actual prison systems get chances to reform and released for graver crimes. Its just an example but I hope you can see what I mean. I feel we can all agree though there are some few who honestly want to watch the world burn, and to ruin our community, but for the majority of us we just want to enjoy the game and have fun, and I feel given the opportunity and help, players can prove to show that they can change their behavior. Some other thoughts I had were, instead of a perma ban, maybe a perma chat ban? Given that the problem was rooted in toxicity, perma banning a player in chat, or for a more prolonged period of time seems to solve the issue and serve as a better option than to shun them out entirely. I apologize for my grammar, and thank everyone for dropping by and sharing their thoughts and time =].

They are not. You are welcome to make a new account and rejoin the community as a better-behaved player. Riot is not, however, obligated to give you a chance to regain what was lost due to your violation of the rules.

Riot tried this. A very large proportion of players resorted to other, more difficult to detect forms of toxicity, and it was deemed an unsuccessful experiment.

Another idea was maybe to implement more clear and vivid warnings as I feel those presented to me leading up to my perma ban could better portray the severity of my situation.

This I agree with -- I'm always in favor of increasing clarity, and I believe the message in the 14-day ban warning that the next step is a permanent ban could be more visible.
