So many people search out on ways to remove their chat from the game. Every time we find a way to do it, Riot makes it to where we cant do it that way. Why?

They want people to be upstanding players, and they want those who aren't gone. Last year they removed infinitely stacking chat restrictrictions so I don't see them ever implementing a self mute.

Personally I don't want to play with people who can't even be trusted to speak. Allowing them to be muted is an opportunity cost I don't want to pay as they are taking up slots that would have gone to other people.

aaaaaaaaaaand boom! http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/faXsHil7-permanently-banned-for-no-reason we have evidence that riot's system is 110% automatic on its banning and is clearly flawed

Q: Why does Riot not want you to disable chat? A: Because Riot expects people to be able to control their own behavior without having to rely on Riot to control their behavior for them. As long as you're using the chat in a neutral or positive manner then you can't ever be punished for what you say in the chat. Be smart not stupid.
