Apparently I'm still being negative and shouldn't talk at all...
Spoke to a riot rep yesterday on live chat because I had a few questions about honor lock, since it's been almost 60 games of little to no chatting and I haven't seen any progress on it's unlock.
This is how some of the convo went down. RR means Riot Rep.
(02:42:02 AM) Krissi2197: I got locked about a week ago unfortunately for the first time since i began playing due to a bad streak of games and lost temper but since then I've been chill and positive but my honor is still locked and I've played about 50 or 60ish games since then. (02:42:20 AM) Riot Rep: So the way it works is dependent on how many games you play with zero negativity. (02:42:36 AM) RR: The more games you play with zero negativity, the faster it will unlock and level up (02:43:13 AM) Krissi2197: People also told me that reports affect the rate in which my honor unlocks, but invalid reports don't count. (02:44:04 AM) Krissi2197: Is there a way you can check to see if I've been validly reported since the restriction I got last Sunday? I've been doing mostly AURFs since then and you know how that can be; sometimes you get bad games and bad team comps and I'm worried I was reported for inting since I haven't seen any honor progress yet D: (02:44:11 AM) RR: Nah, reports don't affect honor (02:44:25 AM) RR: As long as there is zero negativity, you will be okay (02:45:24 AM) Krissi2197: Do you know if it's time based or game based? Sorry for all the questions I just can't really find a clear answer online (02:45:35 AM) Krissi2197: And people I spoke to have totally different answers when it comes to time taken to unlock it. (02:45:44 AM) RR: game based, the more games you play, the faster it will unlock (02:46:24 AM) Krissi2197: I've played about 50 or so since the chat restriction has been lifted usually just saying gg, gg wp, gj, etc. No negativity. I'm assuming I haven't hit the amount needed yet? (02:46:52 AM) RR: 50 games is usually enough, likely it means there's still some negativity that's slowing you down (02:47:28 AM) Krissi2197: That's... Really weird honestly considering I haven't been using chat much if at all since I got restricted other than at the end of games, and maybe in champ select to claim a lane D: (02:48:04 AM) RR: perhaps it might be best that you dont say anything in the chat at all (02:49:06 AM) Krissi2197: Even if I want to compliment someone for a play they made or try to say gg at the end of a game? (02:49:48 AM) RR: Well I don't want you to risk say something that might be negative (02:49:52 AM) RR: so it's best to just not say anything at all (02:50:39 AM) RR: just play the game and genuinely do your best the whole time to help your team (02:50:42 AM) RR: and say nothing
I bolded what claims made me kinda raise my eyebrows a little bit...
"Reports don't affect honor" I'm not sure if they were referring to valid reports, or reports overall. Also, even with my request asking if I've been validly reported since my restriction, they never got back to me on that, so... I still don't know.
"likely it means there's still some negativity that's slowing you down" Later on in the chat I requested they look at my chat logs manually, because literally all I've been doing is saying "bot with (duo)" at the beginning of AURF games, and "gg" at the end of games. A "wp" here and there to a teammate who does a play that makes me smile or go "wow" irl but I don't even have conversations with my team anymore in fear the system will catch something wrong and further my punishment.
"perhaps it might be best that you dont say anything in the chat at all" This is what got me the most... They even recommended to me later in the chat to just remove the chat box completely to avoid typing in it. I just don't get it. If I'm not saying anything negative, or being toxic, this riot representative still tells me to just not say ANYTHING at all because there's a CHANCE that something I say could be negative. I even clarified, "Even if it's to compliment someone or say gg at the end of the game?" and they reply with "Well I don't want you to risk saying something that might be negative".
I have self control... Obviously that ONE time I got restricted after 12 months of consistent play, over 1,200 hours, and hundreds of games... One restriction makes people think I can just blow up at any moment? Yes, I lost my cool for ONE game. One game. And it seems my account and name is forever tarnished by the fact and I need to be told that it's better to just... Not use chat in a team based game. Yes, pings and such work, but I enjoy joking with my teammates from time to time. If someone asks for advice or asks a question I'm supposed to not answer them in fear that it will be taken negatively?
Kinda upset by this honestly. Not to mention that apparently 50 games is more than enough to unlock honor but I haven't been yet because there's negativity slowing me down, yet when I asked if there were any recent flags on my account since last Sunday that show said negativity, nothing was shown for it.
What gives? D: Why is information I've been receiving for the past 6 days SO inconsistent?
