I lost my cool for 1 game out of an entire season, and now I'm punished?

I have never been toxic on this account ever. I lost my cool a couple games ago, because a Rek'Sai literally ran into my lane, dived enemy tower and gave my lane opponent a free kill. Then our adc afk'd in fountain while complaining the rest of the game because he was ganked by mid and jungler, even though we gave him ample amount of pings. He also had an offensive name that isn't allowed, so I was convinced he was a troll account, and I guess he succeeded because now I'm punished.

My biggest mistake was responding to the toxic ez and pointing out his low cs (because he had been afking for about 5 minutes). And I said he dived enemy tower like an idiot. (because he did). So yes, I messed up. But Is 1 game really all it takes? I was trying to explain to them how to be better, how to climb. I had good intentions, but All this reinforces for me is that I am not allowed to talk in-game anymore.

Can a Rioter show me the other games that went into this? Because This doesn't make any sense.

Until the community makes a stand and says, "no this is not okay to give a 10 game chat restriction for this chat log" then nothing will ever change, and things will just become more strict overtime due to the adaptive nature of the AI bot.

Riot staff have mentioned multiple times that the community can change how punishments are handed out and the threshold of severity.

But no one wants to. Mob syndrome on these forums is too complacent.

All this should tell you is maybe not call people idiots in game?

If you have good intentions, how does it serve you to call someone an idiot? Realistically, if someone called you a moron (boss, teacher, fellow student, friend), do you find on average that would make you encouraged or discouraged? How about friends? Do you find that a positive result when you call them names? Do you find it a better result than finding a less directly insulting statement?

You'll rarely get a Rioter here on the behavior boards, but you can submit a ticket at https://support.riotgames.com and ask for more examples.

You can also ask them how many games were considered in this punishment and how oftenly you were recently reported.
