Change Low Priority Queue

Can we please consider amending the rules that put someone into LPQ or change the punishment for AFK's altogether?

If you consistently rage quit on your team, there should be a punishment. And I assume rage quitting would earn multiple reports from your team and the other team making it easier to identify those people.

Unfortunately, I AFK sometimes because I have kids. I have zero control if/when they decide to wake up at night. Should us family people just stop playing the game we've loved for years because we cannot always guarantee no AFKs? I'd rather you take IP, knock me down in rank, whatever. This 20 minute queue nonsense ruins the little time I have to play league as it is. Terrible idea if you're trying to keep people playing.

Also, the vast majority of my AFKs happen when I'm playing with four other friends. They forgive me and the other team gets a win. Where's the harm? Shouldn't that carry less of a punishment if you're reported less?

I'll tell you what. Design a system that can 100% identify and distinguish between a rage quit, technical issue d/c, family emergency, or children waking up anf I will support 100%.

If you can't dedicate the time to play, don't play. Period.

You don't get some magic pass to inconvenience others just because you have children.

I, too, have little time to play league as well. Should I be punished with an unenjoyable 4v5 game and Rito allows people to leave whenever they want without any real consequences? How selfish can you be? Is your time more important than the 9 people you left behind?

This is a video game. People play to have fun, not solely to win. 4v5 is not fun for the enemy either.

Where's the harm?

Your opposition signed up for a 5v5.

I'm sympathetic to the difficulty of raising kids, but Riot's position is that you should have a reasonable expectation to complete the games you start uninterrupted. Emergencies happen, of course, but knowing that you're responsible for kids that could easily interrupt your play and queueing up anyway isn't acceptable. It may be the case that your teammates are accepting, but you're still wasting the time of your opponents who intend to play real games of League, and it would constitute special treatment to forgive you for your AFKs simply because you're constantly playing in premades.

Just to add, the 20 minute queues aren't going to change my behavior, which is the point. I want to play League but the reality is AFKs are going to happen. It's not a deterrent, it's an annoyance.

I am in a similar boat with a overly needy girlfriend. Unfortunately the majority player base has neither kids nor girlfriends and get very, very angry when players leave.

You will not get your request, nor will you find an abundance of support, here.
