Are there any plans to reform Riot's reporting/banning system?

Riot obviously just bans people based on how many people report them. Mob mentality is really effective in a game. Let's run through an example of something I experience quite a bit. I'm really good at high skill champs like Lee Sin, and when I recognize that my team is bad I start playing more greedy. I stay longer after ganks and steal my laners CS. I know that the gold is better on me, and by Riot's own rules, if I were to let the people I know are bad have the gold then I would be trolling. That's considered "not trying to win the game". But when I do this, I often can't help but say a few passive aggressive things. I spam question mark pings, type ??? in chat. I ask "Why did you do X?" but in a way that is clearly condescending. In my opinion, I should definitely not get banned or punished for these things. Pro players in Master/Challenger never get banned for this exact behavior because the other players in the game are good enough to recognize that the person being spam pinged did actually fuck up the game. In low ELO, people just get insecure and they start blaming the only player doing well. They spend all game just typing in all chat "Report so and so" I've had like 20+ accounts banned in my career, but honestly I've had chat logs where I didn't curse a single time. I never directly insulted anyone. As a test, I wanted to see if it was possible to get permabanned while only talking about gameplay and never saying anything personal. It didn't matter, I got 2-weeked, then perma'd. I am 100% sure that there is NO regulation to reports, and it is only based off of percentage of the other players in the game reporting you.

This system doesn't work because bad players' egos are too fragile. They just lash out at the person that's doing better than them. I dont think Riot is open about player numbers, but the queue times are ridiculous compared to just a few years ago. I'm pretty sure that this system is significantly contributing to the decline of this game, as people who are competitive, and not toxic, get permabanned.

I'm good at a lot of competitive games, and I act the exact same way in every single game I play (unless I'm trash, then I stay quiet). League of Legends is the only game I've ever been banned from, and again, I've been banned 20+ times. This is not healthy, and I don't even see the reason for running the game like this. I know that league being toxic was a meme for a long time, but is the solution to just implement Club Penguin censorship? Is the goal to just have 10 players going through the motions, afraid to criticize anyone? I'd probably not even be in diamond if people didn't criticize me early on. That's how I "got good". Someone said to me in a game "this fucking r%%%%% doesn't even orbwalk" then I looked it up and started orbwalking.

Either Riot needs to fix this, or everyone needs to just try to play the game without their ego and just remember there's a fucking mute button. It's not the end of the world if someone is doing better than you, and has an opinion about how you're playing.

It probably goes without saying, but don't @ me with your incorrect opinion. Toxicity is not a problem in this game, it's the overly sensitive creators.

Also, sidenote: NA is the only region with this problem. No other regions have this strict of a banning system, and the players in other regions don't seem to have the same mob mentality because they know that just typing "Report so and so for toxic" in all chat isn't going to get someone who just typed "Wtf mate ????" banned.

People are whiny babies BECAUSE of the system NA Riot has created.

Woah buddy. Let's stop you right there.

Reports only flag the system to review the game, the review will return a toxicity score (0 for no toxicity, 100 for extreme behavior). No matter how many reports a person recieves in that game, the returned toxicity score is the same. That score is then stored in you account, and when you pass a certain accumulated threshold, you get punished.

More reports within the same game doesn't ensure punishment nor does it accelerate punishment. It's like asking people whether the lights are on in a room, no matter how many people you ask, the answer will be the same.

So after this comes the real question, should I actually spend the time to read through the rest of your post? Or has your concerns already been answered?

Yep. You can be rude and insulting without cursing, resulting in a punishment.

I am 100% sure that there is NO regulation to reports, and it is only based off of percentage of the other players in the game reporting you.

If you feel you were inappropriately punished, contact Riot Support and they can look into your punishment. But if you've had prior permanent bans, then I don't think the issue is with "unregulated reports" or anything other than your own behavior.

everyone needs to just try to play the game without their ego and just remember there's a fucking mute button. It's not the end of the world if someone is doing better than you, and has an opinion about how you're playing.

It really sounds like you could heed this advice too.

Riot obviously just bans people based on how many people report them.

Only true as far as it might take multiple games to issue a ban depending on severity. 1 report from a game will flag it.

Please tell me exactly where in Riot's rules/CoC they say don't let your team farm if you are the better player. I'll save you time, it doesn't. It doesn't actually say farm belong to anyone. That is why we get discussions on if it is trolling for a support to farm.

That's considered "not trying to win the game".

False. One could equally argue that you taking all the gold is trying to starve your laner and make them irrelevant. Thus "trying not to win".

But when I do this, I often can't help but say a few passive aggressive things. I spam question mark pings, type ??? in chat. I ask "Why did you do X?" but in a way that is clearly condescending.

Which can be considered toxic and contribute to a punishment. Might take a tad longer though.

In my opinion, I should definitely not get banned or punished for these things. Pro players in Master/Challenger never get banned for this exact behavior because the other players in the game are good enough to recognize that the person being spam pinged did actually fuck up the game.

Those same players are less likely to be reported too. Largely in part to the fact they play with/against the same people at times.

In low ELO, people just get insecure and they start blaming the only player doing well.

They also blame the person not doing well. "Omg top lane only has x cs." While ignoring the fact that someone actually took most of it cause they decided top was a scrub.

They spend all game just typing in all chat "Report so and so"

Report claling is harassment if done more than once. Even that singular time is unnecessary though.

I've had like 20+ accounts banned in my career, but honestly I've had chat logs where I didn't curse a single time. I never directly insulted anyone.

You already admitted to being passive aggressive. Wouldn't surprise me if you decided that a truth/fact wasn't an insult.

As a test, I wanted to see if it was possible to get permabanned while only talking about gameplay and never saying anything personal. It didn't matter, I got 2-weeked, then perma'd.

Skipping chat restrictions probably means you used hate speech or encouraged self harm.

I am 100% sure that there is NO regulation to reports, and it is only based off of percentage of the other players in the game reporting you.

You would be wrong. In fact people are able to request account information. There is a month delay for security reasons, but you can see how many times you got reported.

This system doesn't work because bad players' egos are too fragile. They just lash out at the person that's doing better than them.

And "good players", using term lightly, lash out at the person that is doing worse than them.

I dont think Riot is open about player numbers, but the queue times are ridiculous compared to just a few years ago.

Can't say I really noticed. Then again I queue support/top or top/support and usually not large premades.

I'm pretty sure that this system is significantly contributing to the decline of this game, as people who are competitive, and not toxic, get permabanned.

Then they wouldn't be getting permabanned.

I'm good at a lot of competitive games, and I act the exact same way in every single game I play (unless I'm trash, then I stay quiet).

Congrats? Different games have different systems. Some use prisoner island, others allow kick in a match.

League of Legends is the only game I've ever been banned from, and again, I've been banned 20+ times. This is not healthy, and I don't even see the reason for running the game like this.

Sounds like a you problem. If you have been banned that many times, probably something you are doing. If you wanted to post chat logs, community members could probably tell you what you did wrong.

I know that league being toxic was a meme for a long time, but is the solution to just implement Club Penguin censorship?

Every online game is toxic. Because people enjoy neing anonymous shit heads. We see posts here that league is too strict and also posts that it isn't strict enough.

Is the goal to just have 10 players going through the motions, afraid to criticize anyone?

Constructive criticism is fine.

I'd probably not even be in diamond if people didn't criticize me early on. That's how I "got good". Someone said to me in a game "this fucking r%%%%% doesn't even orbwalk" then I looked it up and started orbwalking.

Constructive criticism of that would be "Hey, look up orb walking. It will help improve your ability."

Either Riot needs to fix this, or everyone needs to just try to play the game without their ego and just remember there's a fucking mute button. It's not the end of the world if someone is doing better than you, and has an opinion about how you're playing.

It isn't the end of the world if someone is doing worse than you either. Maybe your ego is the problem? But hey, soon you'll be able to mute your entire ally chat.

It probably goes without saying, but don't @ me with your incorrect opinion. Toxicity is not a problem in this game, it's the overly sensitive creators.

Public forum and how do yoy jidge if an opinion is correct or not?

Also, sidenote: NA is the only region with this problem. No other regions have this strict of a banning system, and the players in other regions don't seem to have the same mob mentality because they know that just typing "Report so and so for toxic" in all chat isn't going to get someone who just typed "Wtf mate ????" banned.

Every region has different punishment guidelines. I can tell you you are wrong though.

People are whiny babies BECAUSE of the system NA Riot has created.

Yeah, people who get banned 20+ times are really whiney. They want to blame everyone else.

Reform it how? Based on your numerous incorrect assumptions on how it works, or to give even more chances to people (such as yourself) who continuously derail games despite multiple punishments? You had enough chances to reform, and banging on the keyboard was worth more to you than your account.
