2 week ban without a chat suspension first?

I thought the normal process for getting banned was a progressing one, but I just got a 2 week ban without first getting a chat restriction or any kind of warning, I really didn't know what I was doing was wrong (I'm a new player) and I thought it was trash-talk. At least I thought the ban order was first a 10 game restriction, than a 25 game restriction and then you would be banned
