Hey Riot Lyte, Let's talk about the reform system

First off, what are the reform percentages for the players who do find themselves getting reported way too often? Do they EVER get un-banned and unrestricted or is it a never ending cycle they have zero hope of ever getting out of? And is that percentage above or below 50%?

I have never been banned either in game or on the forums, but I am highly concerned with the amount and length of the bans Riot hands out these days. I am a general discussion poster usually so I see the dark side of Riot more often than not. I am curious though, what are reformation rates of players who do find themselves on the wrong end of the ban hammer? I hear many, many, many, nearly every story I hear where once your find yourself on the restriction list or ban list there really is zero hope of getting back in Riot's good graces again. Riot will keep you on a super short leash and will punish you way too harshly. Like 30 game bans where you can only count if you win those games. So in the long run it turns out to be way more than 30 games. Upon getting to those 30 games you get super excited that you are about to get unbanned. At that 30th win instead of getting unbanned Riot informs you that someone reported you at some point and now your new ban requires you to win 65 games in order to get within their good graces again. One person even soldiered through such a ludicrous sentence only to be informed that somewhere in those 65 wins (which actually turned out to be 120+ games) they were reported and their ban status has been elongated to 100 games. So I have to ask are these players guilty until proven innocent? Are false reports automatically assumed positive reports based on the banned player's history? Are you even aware that there are players who have had their accounts restricted for YEARS?

When is enough enough? Are you trying to make these players quit? And if those players sank hundreds of dollars or euros into that account what's to make them continue spending money on the game? These concurrent and ultra-harsh ban phases are down right infuriating for the people who have to suffer through them. Is it because you want them to quit the game? Because in many cases that is what ends up happening. That or they make a smurf account and bring their bad attitude with them and influence any potential new players away from joining the game. Is that really what you want?

I made a recent survey about 2 months ago asking people when they joined the game. 90% of people joined on season 3 or prior. Around this time you guys made some stricter rules regarding the report system so I have a strong feeling there is an immediate correlation between the two. You need to take a long and hard look at the reformation aspect of your system because it really isn't working so good from what I have witnessed.

They changed the way punishments work in patch 5.18. There is now a 4 strike system, and there are no other punishments outside it.

Strike 1: 10 game Chat Restrict Strike 2: 25 game chat restrict Strike 3: 2 week ban Strike 4: Permanent ban

If you receive a punishment and do not reform, you get the next strike. If you go 3 months without incident, a strike gets removed from your account.

People that would've been "permanently chat restricted" in the past, those that were not horrifically offensive but were chronically negative, are now either forced to reform or have their accounts banned.

"The old Chat Restriction System had a ~75% reform rate, meaning about 25% of players continued being negative and were unable to improve their behaviors." --- Source from Riot Lyte

They are also seeing the reform rates have been increasing since they started the new instant feedback system.

If you want to set you mind at ease on how well Riot's systems are built and how much they care about making sure they work properly, Riot Lyte has had two very informative talks from the Game Developers Conferences:

In addition, Very Toxic Jinx's reply outlines the new way they punish. You won't get immediately suspended, but you will eventually get permanently banned if you don't reform.

Tl;dr

I was chat restricted and that made me rethink my attitude.

So I had gotten banned 3 years ago, and I've reformed and have proof of that with having another account for 2 years without a single strike against me. My old account was made when i was 16 years old and I have matured a lot in those 5 years. Since my old account was Permabanned and it was banned when tribunal was just brought into the game at which at the time i wasn't even in custody of the account since it was hacked. What chance do i have of getting this account back?

Why do i want this account back

Numerous hours - Over 2000 games played on this account, Old unobtainable skins and atleast 1000 USD worth of skins

So its simple, how can a permaban be so justified? Especially as a young teen

It doesn't help that riot support is literally useless in this case since all i ever get is automated responses or automatic closing of my ticket.
