Please explain this to me.....

When did it become okay, to silently let someone behave foolish, mute them and watch them make a fools about them without helping them stop their negative behavior.

Go behind their back, report then and ultimately get them crucified for their actions.

Please explain to me, to me that is the most coward system I have ever seen.

People that rage and toxic are not bad people, they just need help finding their way, and punishing them won't fix the issue.(Oh and btw that person you playing with is your team mate for the time being, so you should care about him.)

edit adding more:

  1. i guaranted a ban silence would fix 90 percent of toxic players issue. just take away their chat privileges, they wont troll if they are just toxic, they will just play the game and learn from this.(removing their chat is actually helping them, people feel emotions some hold them in some cant)

  2. riot you dont stop your players from making new accounts, and yes you dont care, and surely dont decline credit cards on new accounts

  3. toxicity isn;t a big issue its just words on a keyboard in an online game, just remove chat point 1

  4. humans arent perfect, and if you can point the finger i guaranteed you are just as guilty

edit 2:

btw keep downvoting it shows me that you guys are upset with the truth, nothing gets upvoted for being truth and positive in this sections only rubish gets upvoted, if you downvote please explain.... wait you cant.

Riot did perma-mutes before, and it didn't go well, as they resorted to AFK & Intentional Feeding instead.

Look, if a certain player constantly buys RP from Riot so much, why would they ban him anyway? This is the logic you need to take your time & think about it, before you go on a "Riot's stealing my money" rampage.

  1. toxicity isn;t a big issue its just words on a keyboard in an online game, just remove chat point 1

And coincidentally, you removed every team communication possible. Do remember that only 0.006% of the 100 million players were toxic enough to be permabanned, so not every soul out there uses chat only to banter crap. Did you even take the time to think before posting this comment?

  1. humans arent perfect, and if you can point the finger i guaranteed you are just as guilty

That's where "self-control" exists. If you can't control your own behavior & attitude over a computer game, Dota2's over there.

"so you should care about him." Strongly disagree.

People are playing league for fun, what is not fun is spending the entire game listening to people flaming and threatening their team with afk's / inting, nor is it fun attempting to reason with people who simply want to ruin the game for others or are throwing a temper tantrum.

Punishment may not fix the issue, but considering the punishments escalate from minor chat bans to permanant game bans, it's not like they aren't given fair warning. They are incentivized to be 'good teammates' through the honor system where they are given rewards for not being a troll.

It's not the average players job to try and readjust anybody's behaviour, and quite frankly trying to do so ingame is just as likely to instigate further argument and could be considered passive aggression in many cases.

In short, if people ruin others gameplay experience so often that they get repeated punishments, they shouldn't be allowed to continue doing so.

Don't worry, Chermorg will come in here any minute and quote some Riot stats about how they tried this and all the players just resorted to physical trolling instead, so it wasn't worth the effort, so they just moved to permabans.

I'm with you. I don't buy Riot's story, and it demonstrates this weird pseudo lack of responsibility they are taking for this. They pretend they are combating toxicity, but they are just doing what is convenient and it does nothing to address or stem the problem.

Self awareness is supposed to be a life skill you should have when interacting with other people. If you don't have that, why is it Riot's job to turn you into a functional member of society?

People that rage and toxic are not bad people, they just need help finding their way, and punishing them won't fix the issue.(Oh and btw that person you playing with is your team mate for the time being, so you should care about him.)

Riot agrees with you. This is why Riot gives you chances to reform and also gives you chat logs. Riot is telling you which games were bad and you shouldn't repeat that behavior.

No, preventing people from chatting does not teach them anything. It does not help them reform. It just encourages them to take out their frustrations in other ways. This is where ping spamming became popular.

  1. riot you dont stop your players from making new accounts, and yes you dont care, and surely dont decline credit cards on new accounts

Permabanned accounts are a harsh punishment and a way to say "generally we don't want you back, however, if you really want to come back, you'll have to start from scratch because otherwise you face no real punishment, but just remember, you may get banned again if you continue your behavior"

  1. toxicity isn;t a big issue its just words on a keyboard in an online game, just remove chat point 1

Toxicity isn't just words... Inting is toxic too... trolling is toxic too...

  1. humans arent perfect, and if you can point the finger i guaranteed you are just as guilty

It's why people get punished for what they say too even if they're standing up to a bully in game. You can stand up to someone by being toxic back or you can stand up to them and still be sportsmanlike. If you're toxic back, both of you get punished for being toxic. If you're sportsmanlike, only the other player gets punished for being toxic.

Downvotes don't necessarily mean they're upset. They may indicate that they disagree with you or that your explanations lack merit.

People that rage and toxic are not bad people

No one said they were. But people that get punished are consistently acting in a way that is negatively impacting other people.

they just need help finding their way

Perhaps. And they should probably search out a means to control their behavior if they really have a problem. It isn't Riot's job to get people help. They are a video game company, not social workers.

punishing them won't fix the issue

But it will remove them from the situation where they are causing problems.

i guaranted a ban silence would fix 90 percent of toxic players issue. just take away their chat privileges, they wont troll if they are just toxic, they will just play the game and learn from this

They already do that, and if Riot is telling the truth, most people do respond to getting a chat restriction. The people that get more than that are the ones that don't respond.

toxicity isn;t a big issue its just words on a keyboard in an online game

What is and is not a big deal is subjective. Arguably cheating in game isn't a big deal because it's just a game. It is a big deal to Riot, because it costs them money.

humans arent perfect, and if you can point the finger i guaranteed you are just as guilty

I can guarantee that I am not just as guilty. Have I been toxic? Yes. I've had bad moments. But it isn't a consistent thing, and I don't use slurs/hate speech in game. Most people don't. So maybe they are guilty of some toxic behavior, but they aren't as guilty as people that are getting multiple chat restrictions/bans.

Reporting a player and punishing them tends to stop them

I agree they should fight to the death.

The reason the banning is based around a kind of level by level punishment, is it gives the players plenty of time to think about what they did before the worst case ban which is permanent.
