Why am I punished for another person leaving?

Recently I have had the lucky opportunity of having players on my team leave the game. whether it be flame, toxicity, rudeness, or whatever reason leaving a game is a not okay move. When a player leaves, it is close to a guarantee loss. I had a game where I played Jinx bot lane and had a lux support. The lux left the fountain, moved around a bit for the first 5 minutes so to not seem afk, then left completely for the next 10 minutes. We go to lose the game even though we were playing insanely well. I then loss LP for the game and this is where the problem is. Why am i punished for another person causing me to lose. I understand losing because another player feeds unintentionally because you can help they player do better but there is almost no way to come back from an afk. Im not saying it should count as a win. Instead make it so that the team with all 5 members receives the win, but the team with 4 or less members receives a remake and does not gain nor lose LP. But, the afk still loses LP. I can already tell people are going to say "well duos will just afk so their friend won't lose LP" so make the duo equally responsible. I just find it ridiculously unfair that I can lose solely because another player felt like not playing. I want riot to fix this so that the game can be a much more enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Because that will artificially inflate the LP system where a team gain full x5 LP while the other team only lost x1 LP. It will also open up for abuse.

When a team is losing, they will try to flame, shame, bait, whatever a teammate to go afk so that they don't lose LP themselves.

There's also the fact that if I lose this game, I lose LP. If I go afk, I still lose the same LP but I will save my 4 teammates. That can and will be abuse.

I can already see the head spinning with ideas.... What if the afk person lose 5 times the amount of LP the team would have lost? Well, afk is not always intentional. Family emergencies, power failure, internet failure, a host of things that is beyond the control of a player that will force him to go afk. How is it fair to go from 100 LP to 0 LP in one game where some drunken guy drives his car into the power/internet pole in my neighborhood?

While it's a pain in the ass and feel horrible to have an afk on your team, statistically speaking, over a sufficient large amount of games, you win more LP due to an afk than you lose if you are not the one afk yourself. There are only 4 potential afk on your team (if you are not the one afk) and there are 5 potential afk on the enemy team. The odds are in your favors....

I can already tell people are going to say "well duos will just afk so their friend won't lose LP" so make the duo equally responsible.

This is insanely unfair. If some drunken guy drives his car into the power/internet pole in my friend neighborhood, I should lose LP while the rest of my team don't purely due to the fact that I queued up to play with my friend and my friend had zero control over his power/internet loss???
